Love this .. .
too many people concentrate on the FREE
On the EASY
and the short cuts. .
My husband and I were having a discussion about this today. Houston is a very international city and he commented on the success of immigrants. My take is, those newcomers have lived a very different life and they realize what a banquet we have here in America. And they work to take advantage of it. Unfortunately, they do this as a lot of our own sit and whine about how the government (or boss, or corporation) isn't helping. As my grandpa used to tell me "The Lord helps those who help themselves"
There is no value to settle for a $4.95 all you can eat buffet when with effort you can sit down at the table of success.
But see, then I'd have to order off the menu, and what if I'm sitting in, oh, a Mexican restaurant, and I don't feel like eating a burrito? Huh, then what? I mean, maybe I'd rather have a shrimp cocktail, a giant shrimp cocktail with horseradish, and I'm not gonna get that in a Mexican restaurant, now am I?
YOU get what you pay for.
Free lunches come with a price that you are not seeing up front.
Lou, you are right on - success doesn't happen overnight, it earned through labor, creative thinking, moving in the right directions with persistent effort and time.
Cool words, Lou. Stay passionate and thanks for the inspiring words today!
Lou, Happy Monday to you. If you were here I would take you out to lunch!
Lou - love your quote:
There is no free lunch and success won’t be handed to you, you will earn your success one stepping stone at a time. The key is to keep stepping in the right direction without becoming distracted or being thrown off your course by your obstacles and setbacks.
Hard work, a creative idea and passionate drive to full throttle be the best will guarantee success. Because it is not the norm, not everyone is a little red hen efficient, focused.
So true Lou! Focus on being successful and less on what someone else has to offer. Congrats on the feature and being the Member Spotlight today in the daily drop!
Most of the free items that I've obtained, I would've never bought because the value wasn't there.
Definitely some good thoughts to think about on a Monday as we get get going on this week.
Lou, I used to work for Corporate America, but was told the harder I work, no extra pay. Well, in real estate MOST time it does pay! Great post!
Lou, thanks for being frank that the old fashion way to have something is to go work for it and earn it.
Lou, so very true with what you say. Success takes a plan, discipline, peserverance and of course lots of work.
No free lunch you have to keep on going even when the chips are down ..
Lou,
Congratulations on the feature. The only way something is apparently free is when someone else pays for it. :)
Steve
Good morning Lou,
An excellent quote, so sad that free enterprise is becoming a "bad" thing....
It is a sad state of affairs to realize that over 50% of our citizens are dependent upon free, and, the number is growing daily!
Good morning Lou, there should be no free lunch unless needed, unfortunately much of our population does receive one and believe that they are entitled to one at the cost of the rest of us.
