I was talking to one of my friends yesterday morning...
Between sips of coffee, my friend asked, "Have you figured out what you want, Ken?"
Since the coffee hadn't yet kicked in, I was still a bit foggy...
"No," I responded meekly...
As I drank another cup and a half of coffee, my mind started moving...
"What do I want?" I thought to myself...
I headed to my healthclub, Lifetime Fitness in Warrenville, climbed on a treadmill, and started running...
As I clicked off the miles, things became clearer, and I figured out what indeed I do want.
5 Things I Want
- A Part Time Job
Many agents will be loathe to admit it, but a career in real estate sales can be very challenging. In months without closings, the expenses that an agent incurs can be overwhelming. I want a part time job to smooth out the income stream, allowing me to cover my bills between sales. - Continued Health and Fitness
We all know how important our health is, but the value of a good workout goes beyond the physical benefits. On days I workout, I always feel great, and a happy Ken is a great Realtor...
I have been quite consistent with my workout schedule over the last several months. My typical workout week consists of 4 runs and a yoga class or two. I find they balance each other out nicely. I look to maintain this consistency. - A New Car
When I first became a Realtor back in 2005, I sold my car to finance my new career. While I certainly needed the money, there were lots of stresses with being a one car family. It is a stress I am ready to be done with...
I think a BMW 330 would be great. Probably a sedan (although the two door does looks sporty). Black or red would be preferred.
- A Home Close to My Daughters
One of the toughest things for me is not being able to see my two young girls (3 and 6) as often as I would like. I want to buy or rent a home close to where my girls live with their mother in Brookdale, Naperville. There are several small homes in the area that would be perfect for my needs...
- A Record Year Selling Real Estate
Money can't buy happiness, but being broke stinks. Having been on both ends of the spectrum, I am looking forward to bringing more of my recent activity to the closing table. I am confident 2012 will be my best year selling real estate yet...
It feels great to write down "What it is that I want..." Just thinking it through makes it closer to reality...
So what about you? Have you figured out what you want?
It might feel great to write it down.
Ken
