I don't think it's necessarily a beige world we have to succumb to when staging homes for sale.  A neutral can venture into the greens, browns, deep tans and on and on.  As long as the paint dramatically compliments the room and furnishings, and does not distract (key point), color doesn't have to be vanilla!  This dining room had a washed out light green that did nothing to enhance the contents or architectural features of the room.   By painting a deeper, richer green, the room now has interest and is soothing to the eye.

The dining room desperately needed warmth and we did that easily with the new green with some red accents.

I like the new green color. The plants add a lot of life to the room also

Love, love, love it!  Green is my favorite color/neutral!  What color is that and what brand?!?!

I too LOVE green!  The power of color will never cease to amaze me.  Please let us know the color and brand.

Great colour! The green that I use, and love, that looks fantastic with any wood and compliments so many colours is called "Florentine Plaster" from Benjamin Moore. If you haven't used it already, you have to try it!

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Julia!  The green looks beautiful and REALLY changed the room.  I love paint and the impact it makes.  Also, people often think that painting a small room a dark color will make it appear smaller and this is not always true.  I am adding this color to my "must use" paint list.  Thanks again.

Great color!  It looks amazing with the natural wood! The lighting on the cabinet makes for a nice artistic picture.

Melody, I love those colors.  I don't think we need to "think" in terms of light colors, because in my personal opinion, darker colors like the ones you used, don't necessarily darken a room, but rather compliment the furniture, woodwork etc., making everything in the room pop.

I'm glad to hear other stagers are not afraid to use color.  The color I used for this dining room is Benjamin Moore - Eucalyptus Leaf - #2144 . I love this color for it's depth and the way it highlighted the furnishings and was a good backdrop to the red accents.

JULIA,

I would like to see the BMoore Green you use.  Do you have a picture you can post?  What is the number of the paint?  How does it compare to the one you see in this photo (Eucalyptus Leaf)?

Hi Melody:  The addition of the rug on the tile floor helps a lot, too!  Happy New Year - Julie

I love this Eucalyptus Leaf green as it definitely warmed up the room.  I also like the red accents!  You did another fantastic job, Mel.

Nice job!  I totally LOVE GREENs!  Neutrals are more than just beiges...though designers alreadly know this!  I always have one room done in green when I renovate my personal projects...it seems to bring warmth and life to space!  Regards-Kathleen G

PS-I will check out the Florentine Plaster color as well....

Melody: Love the green. It is bold, fresh, energetic and exciting. I think we have to get away from the idea of neutralizing and think more about what is appealing even if it isn't neutral.

Agreed Melody! Finding the right warm color is key and it doesn't have to be beige. Your photos prove that.

Personally I like the neutral palette with a small accent punch of color like red or purple or green. It makes a nice statement without being overwhelming. I recently showed a house with dark PURPLE carpet in the living room. My buyers actually laughed out loud when they saw that!
