This is post #7 of the beatititudes
taught by Jesus the Messiah:

Once a year at a talent competition for women
that culminates all local, state and national
pageants, there is a wonderful thing that Miss
Universe hopefuls always ask for:

"World Peace..."

How can you get peace in ALL its forms??

  • Peace in your family
  • Peace in your relationships
  • Peace at work
  • Peace in the community
  • Peace in the Nation
  • Peace in the Earth

I have found those needs are VERY simple to achieve
if you just apply this teaching from Jesus the Messiah:

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
Matthew 5:9

How do you do it you may ask:

  • You have kids or relatives that rub you the wrong way.
  • You have a person that is SUPPOSED to be your friend
that JUST SEEMS to NOT be your friend when it suits them.
  • A fellow worker is ALWAYS looking out for him/herself
    instead of the TEAM.
  • A neighbor down the street has accused your son/daughter
of wrong doing, but you KNOW differently.
  • One Nation needs something and another nation has it,
but refuses to let the other buy it at a decent price or
    have it on goodwill.
  • The Earth is in turmoil, waiting for the sons of God to be
    revealed.

It seems impossible, yet there is guidance found in the
Word of God for EVERY one of those situations.

  1. When relatives rub you the wrong way, do you stew about it and not do anything about it?
Or do you take this verse to heart:"If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, 'I repent,' forgive him." Luke 17:3-4 In accord with this verse, here is something more to ponder: "If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church(family); and if he refuses to listen even to the church(family), treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector. Matthew 18:15-17

THAT will preserve YOUR peace...... The same thing goes for the friend that SEEMS to be a friend, but ONLY when it suits him/her..... for the fellow employee that just will not play with the team...the SAME thing applies...... of course you need a STRONG management team that will NOT take crap from unruly team members....

In fact ALL the situations mentioned in the above bullet points
are treatable the SAME way....BUT the rulers (elders) in a
TEAM of employees, head of a family, head of a church
(or even rulers of nations) NEED to be people of upstanding
principle....
OR there cannot be ANY peace in any situation.

Lets see the criteria for leaders in an organization according to the Word of God:

  • ".........an overseer(or ruler) is entrusted with serious work, he/she must be blameless-not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather he/she must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy (set apart for Gods usefulness) and self-disciplined.  Titus 1:6-8

Can you imagine what would happen if ANY ruler (or governing body)
were to take things in the above way, instead of looking for the
fastest way to make money, the easiest way out of situations, or the
way that MAKES them SEEM to LOOK THE BEST, trying to make others
like them a lot (as in playing politics) instead of sticking to upright
principles -- WOW!! But, what happens is turmoil and dissention keep
coming in to harm the friendship, family, community or nation when
the wrong things (or ways of ruling) are done.

When the right principles in life are followed REAL PEACE results.

I am going to stop right here and give the archives for The Upside Down Kingdom
(A Bible Study on the beatitudes of Jesus the Messiah) because each one of them
tie into the rest of this post:

How many wars could have been avioded, communities built up,
companies prospered, families blessed, relationships healed and ...
how many people will take up this teaching by the
GREATEST teacher of all time.

I CHALLENGE YOU..... if you are a leader in ANYTHING.....
Take these principles of Jesus the Messiah to heart
by putting them into practice in your life.
Watch you life TURN around!

If you WANT to become a leader...
take heed to these principles....
They will help avoid a LOT of pain!

This very relevant post on life and how practicing these
principles in real estate can change your life for the
better is brought to you by:

Why is that poor kitten in the glass?

12/27/2007 10:35 PM by Options Realty

I learned the hard way to keep religion and real estate away from each other.  I lost a deal for a $2.7M house over a picture of Jesus Christ in the living room when the Catholic sellers and the Jewish buyers got into a debate about religion.

12/27/2007 10:36 PM by Gary McAdams (GMAC Schwartz Property Sales)

Laurie Mindnich ~~~ think about how You feel when you have no peace..... see what i mean?  ;-)

Gary McAdams ~~~ That wasn't YOUR fault...... at keast if the picture was in the sellers house and the buyers objected to it... you could have asked the seller to take it down while the buyers were there if they did not like it there...that might have solved the problem.... you could have also told them politely to talk about the topic later and focus on the task at hand...getting that house sold..... who says Jewish and Catholic people cannot get along.....  be the peace maker.... =-)

I would most assuredly not be peaceful with my head popping out of a glass as a kitten.

12/27/2007 10:45 PM by Options Realty

Laurie Mindnich ~~~ When we are caught in unforgiveness,
hatred, selfishness etc. it can feel like being bottled up all within ourselves....
that is the reason for the kitten picture..... I tried to put a comment below
the picture to that effect, but I did not have the HTML experience to do it...
some day i will figure out how to do that..

=-)

Thanks Alex, this is a great post!  We all need to be peace makers, especially Christians.  Very timely post to get us off on a good start for 2008!  I really appreciate all you do with Christianity and Real Estate

Alex,

You know you can add descriptions to your pictures that allow words to pop up when someone runs their cursor over the picture. When inserting a picture, the first tab gives you image description and title. Whatever you put in the title field will pop up when someone runs their cursor over the picture.

that would have accomplished getting that poor kittens feelings out there :)

Alex- right on target as usual. keep at it brother God Bless You

May 2008 be the year we see Jesus......  "All things work together for good for those who love the Lord."  " Do all things as unto the Lord.  Praise his precious name, while we live in this "God blessed Land."  Thank you for your comments..... Happy New Year.  LU

Mary Warren, Las Vegas Real Estate ~~~ Some people think just forgiving others is the whole story to having peace... BUT as you can see, there is another side to it...thanks for coming by, Mary!!

Bob Stewart - ActiveRain ~~~ Thanks for coming by, Bob... I DO know about the cursor thing, but i wanted the message to be more visable... the next thing I am going to do is try to get the picture in a frame or something like that.... then i could center the words below it and everything would work out..... that poor kitty.... ;-)

Hugh Krone Sussex County NJ Realtor ~~~ Thanks for stopping by, bro... I appriciate your comments on my blogs as well... =-)

Lu Kalaj ~~~ that all depends on what Dad says...."Is everything ready to give Lucifer enough rope to hang himself?" I don't think everything is in place yet.... but soon enough it will be "LIGHTS OUT" for the enemy of our souls. =-)

ALEX:  I believe that being a peacemaker is one of the most important things we can be. Think about the statement we can make by choosing the way of peace. When we display the peace of God in the midst of our storms, we send a strong message to the world. GREAT MESSAGE, my friend!! I continually challenge myself to be more like Jesus. GBU!

You are right about the kitten in the glass.  I know exactly what the kitten is feeling due to a prior job with mgmt. who allowed the workers to just run wild.  Your trapped and can't move and no one to help.

Thanks for this wonderful post!

While we live under the spell of the sinful nature (ROM 6,7,8) it's impossible to have the true peace we are meant to have. It is only when the Holy Spirit makes a home in you that the impossible suddenly becomes easy and very possible!

Great post, Alex!

Elizabeth Nieves - Bilingual Raleigh - Durham North Carolina Real Estate Team ~~~ The one thing everyone overlooks is the second verse I displayed..... forgivng is a good thing....IF the person says,"Your right, I'm sorry..." BUT to call them on the carpet with a couple of "family members" can do wonders for some people...... and if THAT does not work -- if you have strong leadership -- THEN getting them "taken care of" is the BEST thing to do to keep the peace..... and if you don't have a strong leadership...then find a place that DOES!!

Karen Gentry / RE/MAX Excellence  ~~~ I am sure to found a great place that does have thier act together!!! It is not fun to be in that glass..... the poor kitty!!!

Orlando Homes Armando Rodriguez Real Estate & Mortgage Broker-GRI ~~~ True, peace with God can only be achived that way, bro... but that is not what the post was about...... I found the post turning away from that idea for various reasons..... Thanks for stopping by, bro!!

Melissa Grant, Realtor ~~~ That kitty needs PEACE!!! I am so glad to have been able to be a part of YOUR peace, sis!! GBY LOTS and LOTS!!

Hi Alex, I read your post the other day, right after you posted it.   The picture of that poor kitten had me so distracted,  I decided to come back later to re-read it.  I wanted to think about your message and ignore the kitty picture.  I'm glad that I wasn't the only one.  ha, ha.

After reading your comments, that picture was a good choice to demonstrate what life without forgiveness is like.  It certainly isn't a peaceful state of being.

Grace and peace,

Without God, life as we know it, would be much different.  Since being saved, a born-again believer, that Jesus was born of a virgin, died, and rose again in his resurrection, and that he is the reason we live.  So everything we do, may we bring Glory to Him, above all.  Have a great weekend.  Lu

12/29/2007 05:18 PM by Lu Kalaj (Re/Max Platinum)

Sondra Meyer I didn't think the kitty would be that distracting..... I knew it was humorous, but not distracting..... Thanks for the comment, sis...forgiveness IS a wonderful thing!!

Lu Kalaj ~~~ Thanks for coming by...I am looking forward to reading more of your posts!!

I came back to this one.  I am still worried about the poor cat and yes he is still there.  I think it is a good example of how we would be with God in our lives.  Give him praise, give him praise.  If the next person think you are going overboard, OH WELL.  Give him praise and stay blessed.
