I am often asked for help in getting business in the door.  I suggest you do something very simple - let your past clients know that you are still open for business.  Simply let them know that you are still here.

If you do not send out a monthly or quarterly newsletter, you only have yourself to blame.  Instead of looking for new clients, let your old, satisfied clients know what you are doing.  And while you're at it, let them know that you are still actively doing loans and that you would love their referrals.

If you have added a new product such as reverse mortgages, commercial lending or other specialties - let them know.  Your existing database contains your next loan.

spend your marketing dollars on printing and postage.  Keep your old clients for your self instead of letting someone else get them.

You are right.  There's a catalog printer called Color for Real Estate.  They have some cards called "Agent for Life".  These are several years of postcards, like "happy 4th of July" and "happy springtime".  I keep these organized in a file and mail them out dilligently.

Somewhere I was taught that it takes 5 times as much money to find a new client as to keep an old one.

The Annual Review..

On great way to keep on touch is to call everyone that has closed a deal with you in each month, every year.  Ask about their life, family, job, etc. Ask if they are still comfortable with their loan. Most importantly.. Ask For Referrals.
