I just watched a video on lock bumping and had never heard about it before but apparently the how-to information is making the rounds on the internet so I think it's important that all the good guys hear about it and how to get around it.
Lock bumping is when a person gets a key cut in several different places and then they can put it insid a lock that it doesn't work on, hit it with a tool several times, and according to the locksmith in this video, about 90% of locks will open!

There are a couple different types of locks that cannot be bumped and they are expensive, about $150, but that is a small price to pay to keep your family and belongings safe.
I would recommend talking to a security professional like a locksmith about what options there are for your home. Medeco is one of the manufacturers of high security locks that can be retrofitted to fit without having to replace the entire lock.
