People I am here to tell you that we have to take control of the market!  If we allow the media to convince the general public that we are in a recession, then we aren't nearly the sales professionals that I know that we are!  The only crisis that we must deal with is that which is being created by the media.  I am not going to get into why I believe it so important to them that this mentality be slammed into the public mindset, but allow me to say that it has a great deal with the election.  Enough said!

The fact is that the Holiday selling season was UP!  Headlines, however, boldly proclaim that it was "DISAPPOINTING - up just X%" Isn't up always a good thing?  Nope.

Now, just so no one is under the impression that I an off my medication, the housing market has changed from 12 to 18 months ago.  Nobody is flipping properties and cashing out with $50,000 in 30 days, unless thay are on HGTV or TLC.  OK, I get it...I'm not sure anyone else does, but I do get it.  There has been a correction.  The subprime mess has taken a toll on a segment of some markets.  Real Estate is local, local, local.  Markets are different and mine is still doing just fine!

So, here's to a GREAT '08!  If you want it, you are going to have to take responsibility for it today and make your '08 what you want it to be!  Avoid the media.  Their agenda is not in any one's best interest.

You use the word correction in your post. I could not agree with you more. It's not a recession ,depression, meltdown, or crisi. It is the market correcting itself and returning to normal

Although I ended up busy at the end of this year I still see prices going down for a while longer. As long as there are desperate sellers in dire need to sell...they will do anything to stay out of foreclosure. Leveling prices will come but long term appreciation is what we will see. Buyers will find more and more opportunity here. Not sure what your market is doing.

Yes correction has taken place and I agree that it is our job to encourage the market! Stay positive!!
