The Chicago PMI or Business Barometer is expeted out later this morning.  This is the report showing the manufacturing managers in the nation's heartland views the economy.  While seemingly obscure to the rest of us, bond traders trust this number in determining if the nation is in an expanding or contracting mode.  The Chicago PMI came out just now at 56.5 (anything over 50 means that the economy is expanding).  This could affect rates - just have to see

Technically speaking - the FNMA 6.0% 30 year bond rose on the news of the assasination of the former Prime Minister of Pakistan.  This morning, the bond has appeared to broken through a major resistance level awaiting further news, therefore ...

... the recommendation is for consumers to

               float.
