Bikes & Blues With Mickey Jones 2008!

Way back in September I wrote Bikers Descend Onto Pelican Bay, the post was about how we were filming a commercial for our Annual Bikes and Blues Bike and Golf Event for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

We got the first DVD in October, however we had to add a little something else to it so we sent it back to Mickey Jones and he added Big Mike Griffin's awesome "biker blues" as background music, along with Mickey singing his signature song, Double Bogey Blues from the movie Tin Cup

Once we got the DVD back, we had to figure out how to get it uploaded to youtube. Not so easy!

Enter Midori's husband! He was able to do what had to be done to turn the DVD into a video and we are now live on the internet!

The committee wants to thank everyone involved with the making of this video, the photographers from last years event, Midori's husband, the camera man from PBS who came out to Pelican Bay to film that part of the video, all the bikers, golfers and sponsors and Mickey for putting it all together!

Without all of you this would not have been possible.

Enjoy!

How cool Lysa. I need to figure out how to do that.  Did Midori's hubby show you how?

Lysa...have I seen him on TV or in a movie? He sure looks familiar!

I love your new picture...very sexy! The other one made you look older than you are.

Lysa, Midori's husband was so nice to help!  I believe St. Judes is a wonderful cause and am proud of everyone who donated time, money, effort and some really good music to it.  Thank you for sharing this, it was great.

Lysa, I know you and so many others here will be so rewarded for all your efforts, god will see to that I am so sure.  And, Danny Thomas would be so proud as I am sure his daughter is too.  I would love to come ride with you all in this event, I would love to make that a goal for us to do as soon as we are able, no doubt in my mind.  Thank you very much for sharing this with us and for making the film possible.

Matt,Thanks! Do you golf? You are more then welcome to come join us on April 6th!! Mickey did a awesome job on the video, the last song was Mickey singing Double Bogey Blues from the movie Tin Cup!

Joan, Yes you have seen Mickey on TV! He was a regular on Home Improvement! If you go to his website mickeyjones.com you will learn you may also know him from his days as a musician playing for bands like Kenny Rogers and The First Edition, Bob Dylan, Johnny Rivers and Trini Lopez. He has also been in many movies.

Believe it or not, the new picture is newer! Just got off the bike when that one was taken :)

Carole, Midori and her husband are both great people for sure! Yes, St Jude is a worthy cause and we love every minute we spend on this project. We have so much fun during the events that we have bands asking to play at the bike event and we've gone from having just Big Mike playing to possibly having Big Mike and 3 local area bands.

Bob, I am looking forward to the day that the two of you can make this ride. I know you supported this event through your prayer last year and will continue to do so which means a lot to all of us. Thank you!
