Early Design Center Options In Springfield VA

By
Real Estate Agent with Integrity Real Estate Group

Today when you buy a new home the builder design center reminds you of a huge furniture store.  The builder offers you a myriad of choices for every room in the house.  In 1950's Springfield VA you had a "colororizer" to help you pick out the interior color scheme of your home.  I can remember friends who had homes with pink or turquoise kitchen appliances and yellow bathroom fixtures.

If you are looking for a home in Springfield VA today you can still find some homes with the original fixtures but more often you will find a home that is nicely updated and ready for a 2012 family.  Give Cindy Jones and CJ Realty Group a call at 703-346-2213 if you would like to take a look at the options available in Springfield VA today.

Cindy, so what kind of name is "Tippy" anyway? Sounds a teesy bit too cute. Sort of like pink and turquoise tile and appliaces!

Pat-I did some research on Tippy Stringer.  She was the weather girl on the old WRC-TV.  Was married to Chet Huntley until his death.

Cindy: That brought me back many years ago when I was involved in the staging of the first five models in Mililani Town, Hawaii. Now about 100,000 families live there. I wonder how many still have olive green appliances?

Hella-I found one this week with all the original bathrooms. Green in one and yellow in another.

Cindy, this is a blast from the past! I remember (all too well) the baby pink and black tiles in our bathroom, and another that was green (tres chic for its time, I'm sure!) :-)

Karen-my parents went the conservative route and had gray tiles with black accents.

Will-yes houses in our area were starting around the $15,000 mark.  Most of them were all brick so I'm sure that added to the costs.
