Have you ever heard that we can make our life whatever we want it to be?  Well, to a certain extent that is probably true...We can close the 2007 Agenda, and Open a New Page.......we all start off with a Blank Canvas.....a brand new year.......

2008 whatever we make it to be

A blank canvas.........think of the excitement, the wonder of the finished product.  Think of all the colors you can mix, or you can keep it simple and just sketch in Black and White....

Paint the year anyway you want....you have the brush, and the canvas, the vision of what you want. Some people just jump right in, and paint whatever feels right, while others take their time, and study the canvas.......there is NO right or wrong way....it is your canvas, your life, your year.

Listening to Forecasts doesn't appear to be of much help, as everyone has their own opinion, and style, as well as area specific conditions. some people like blue, some brown, some no color at all.......

Learning from the Past.....How did you plan 2007?  What was the final picture that you can see now, and how will you learn for 2008.....

Look at what worked, what didn't, admit mistakes made, and move on. Life moves forward, the lessons are in the past.....

Paint your canvas anyway you want....you have plenty of time, and 12 months to do whatever it is you chose......and like in all art, you can change it at will.........

Dream, plan, experiment, and lastly just start......the picture will evolve one way or the other :)  2008 will come no matter what you have on your canvas......

Life is for Living.......and we all decide how we want to use our time, will it be beneficial, and add to, or detract from, it's your Canvas....paint it however you want :) Happy New Year......

Nice analogy, Kathy.  I love the idea of the new year being a clean canvas, ready for me to paint on!  Business planning would be the sketch, the results will be painted as we go.

I want my canvas to be all mine...no one influencing, no one trying to make me think differently, or trying to twist stuff around. You're right....   I PAINT MY OWN CANVAS.

Okay....I was yelling that lol!   This was a great view of what lies in the mind and opinion of others and how they think about what 2008 brings to them.

Lisa-  Starting off with the business planning....yep, that's good, and I can just visualize how I want my canvas to look .......the different colors, shapes, textures.....oh this is going to be a good year :)  Happy New Year to you Lisa.....:)

Sally- Oh Sally....see that yellow bucket of Paint next to the canvas....well, that is for all those other artists that want you to paint what they want.....:)  It IS your canvas.....and it IS your choice how you paint it....and anyone that insists you paint like they do, well why would you want to do that?  Look down the canvas...someone painted trees.....OK, and a girl is painting a  big circle, that's OK too....but it is and always will be your choice what and how you paint........on your own canvas!!!!!!

I like the trees....the circles lead right back to where I started...haha!  I'll stick with my own canvas and trees and maybe take into consideration the trees and circles. how's that?

Kathy,

Since I have no artistic ability, I see myself more as one of the colors on a canvas rather than the artist! Thanks,   Fran

Kathy, I'm ready my friend.  I have my paint, brush and canvas ready to create a beautiful picture.  I can see so many amazing things that I will implement on my masterpiece.

Excellent post!

Fran- Hey everyone has a role.......paint is as important as the painter.....however I must respectfully disagree with your abilities....for all of us that read your Posts, you absolutely are an Artist....we may not all paint the same way, but it is what we create that is important.....:)

Julie-Oh, I know your canvas will be a Masterpiece.....and I can see you standing there with sparkling eyes, chewing on your pencil, with your heart wanting to put all the wonderful things on at once :) :)  You have 12 months....pace yourself LOL .......funny but I can really see you standing there ready......and it's a good positive sight for all of us :) :)u

You have me figured out! "with your heart wanting to put all the wonderful things on at once".  My goodness, I am transparent.  I will pace myself my friend (with much work), one by one with each stroke of my brush and sweep of paint I will ever so gently turn that masterpiece into a treasure.

Julie- Ya know I like the new vision of you as well....that is the one that looks successful....the one who now has looked at all the months, and hats she must wear, and makes sure that her masterpiece has a little of everything in it.......you are the best, and I am sure you alredy have the treasure....it just needs a little tweaking, and some color :)

Hi Kathy,
It's great to be back after my time away and find everyone is looking forward to a new year and new possibilities.  A blank canvas of my own, I like that.  The possibilities are endless and each one will be different. I am ready to get started!

Hi Kathy, my canvas is always blank. Anything that comes along that strikes my fancy gets painted/added to it. :-) Happy New Year.

It is our word that we are held accountable. It is our goal that we want to succeed and it is a good thing to put it in writing.

Cynthia- I love a blank canvas....I think that is why I like Real Estate.....we can paint our own pictures :)

Teri- Love it....keep the canvas blank so anything that comes along can be painted/added.....yes, I like this.......the flexibility.

Susan- Sounds like you have your canvas already mapped out....:)  Oh, and in writing, absolutely......

Aziz- 2007 is almost over.....and we can leave most of the problems we may have had with it.......every New Year, just like every new day we have the opportunity to make it better.  I hope you find something, anything to give you a good mood to start the New Year with ......

Carole- I wish I could see your canvas....I'll bet it will be full of color and light.....I would leave some room though as sometimes we think we want something only to find out that there is a whole different thing we wanted, or needed. I sure hope you have a very good year.....

Kathy, I've just gone out and purchased my brushes and paint supplies.  2008 will be painted with broad brush strokes and bold bright colors.  I'm looking forward to a much better year in 2008 than this past year, both professionally and personally.  All the best for a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!

I agree 100%. I love the new year and the chance to start fresh in a way. I set new goals, reflect on the previous year and see what I was able to accomplish and what I'd like to change. Its almost a time of self reflection to see if I'm headed in the direction I want to head. I have to say after my "self reflection" I'm more excited about 2008 than I have been about any other year!

Rick- I felt the excitement just reading your words....yes, I feel good about this year as well.....and the reflection time is something that helps make everything from now on NEW....My year is starting pretty good, I hope yours is as well.
