Awwww...The Perfect Client.

Just a few days ago I wrote a blog Sometimes you just got to let them go and was thinking that I should write about the first time I had my very first perfect client. I mean I was in a state of Euphoria. We had spoken just a few times on the phone, emailed back and forth and everything I needed to proceed was in order.

We both met for the first time since her arrival to Woodbridge, Virginia.  Finding a home was the only thing on her mind.  She had left her family back home to arrive later after the school year ended and was here by herself.  There was no one else she knew in Northern Virginia other than myself.  Her work at the Pentagon was soon to start so she needed a residence quickly. EVERYTHING I asked of her she returned to me without hesitation.  She knew exactly what she wanted and there was no second guesses.  She even arrived at the home we were scheduled to view before I did, and I usually make it my business to arrive ahead of scheduled time.

As we entered the property I took out my checklist which I had prepared with the criteria in which she requested. To my amazement she had one too.  I said to myself, no way. I asked her if I could see it and it was almost the exact replica of what I had... I couldn’t believe it. After allowing her to view the property on her own, we met back into the kitchen area. She asked me a few questions and after answering them to her satisfaction, she said okay,
I’LL TAKE IT.

It took me a minute to process that because I was sure we were not done.  She had to want to look at more homes. Nope, nada. When she said this was it, this was it. Awwww...The perfect client. We closed on that very same house. No problems with anything, it was smooth
sailing.

Yes, Cheryl. How well I remember my First perfect client. I had five homes on my list to show this couple one day during my time frame. After the second home, the husband said this is it. I don't need to look at anymore homes. His wife asked, what about the others? He was firm. No. This is the one. We don't need to look at the others. What a smooth transaction all the way through closings.

Would love to have many more of those.

Cheryl, in 9 years in this business I think I've had 3 like that, and they were the type of client that makes you keep on looking for another.

The perfect client...yes, I have had quite a few. They are not as memorable as the more challenging ones. We could all use a bit of not memorable clients.

Nothing to be jealous about Debbie.  It has only been one thus far.  You can be sure if I know of someone I'll send them your way!

Thank you Cheryl, it was a pleasure to read of your perfect client. It sounds like more a matter of a very prepared person, maybe you can help your future clients to be more prepared by giving a copy of this blog post to potential buyer during or shortly before your first meeting.

Most people would like to be know as a near perfect client, they just need a little coaching to get to that point.

Cheryl, it happens once in a while with me. The most recent, just 4 months ago - who knew what he wanted and we saw just ONE home - and that' it! Smooth sailing all the way. I also wish if everyone was like him...
