Luxury vinyl plank and tile flooring - Westchester NY

Vinyl flooring has come a long way, baby!   Luxury Vinyl Tile Westchester New York

When most people hear the vinyl, they think about sheet vinyl...or maybe peel & stick tile...or maybe even Vinyl composite tile (VCT) - the type you might see in a supermarket or a school.

But, the latest trend in vinyl is Luxury vinyl. This is a high end durable vinyl that looks real! Luxury vinyl can be made to look like real hardwood or even tile. The designs use real digital pictures and use registered embossing for the wood grains and tile textures. They are truly amazing in how real they look and feel - in fact, many experts are fooled by how real these look.

Not only does Luxury vinyl look great, but it's waterproof, so it's a great option for areas with water and moisture such as kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and entryways.

With Luxury vinyl, you can also get fun and creative by adding borders and altering the direction of the tiles and planks. The pieces are all individual, including vinyl grout lines that are lower than the vinyl tiles for a more realistic effect.

Unlike laminate flooring, which has a tinny sound when you walk on it, luxury vinyl is glued to the floor and hence doesn't sound fake.

Check out these pictures and see how real luxury vinyl looks!

Wow, those are some pretty patterns.  I'd rather have vinyl than tile, I love smooth surfaces and they look awesome!

Deb - it is amazing how far vinyl has come and it really does look beautiful - nothing like the vinyl of 10 years ago. I'm sure this is a very popular option for spaces that have water issues or for people who want a beautiful floor without breaking the bank.

Maybe a luxury vinyl floor in a harlequin (checkerboard) in color would work in my kitchen????

It's amazing how far vinyl flooring has come. All too often we have to touch the "grout" line just to see if it's ceramic tile or not!

Michael - Yes, vinyl is one of those products that really has come a long way.

Sara - They are certainly easier on your feet and easier to clean.

Larry - I know, it's truly amazing!

Kathy - Me, too.  It really does look so real.

Ginny - Yes, it's generally less than tile especially if the floor is uneven.

Kristine - Yes, exactly.  Head and shoulders above what it used to be.

Christine - Yes, it's a great option.  It's not cheap, but it's usually less expensive than tile.

Joanna - Oh, maybe.  Not harlequin...because I've never seen them in that shape, but we could find something really nice.  Or, hardwood could work.

Craig - Yes, you really do.  and, they are so much easier to clean vs. grout.

Debbie ~ You could have fooled me!  The luxury vinyl looks like a great option when the real thing is either too expensive or won't work in a particular room.  I'm amazed how far vinyl flooring has come and look forward to more examples of this product!!
