May 5th and 6th, 2012 are going to be all about the Fine Arts in Downtown Silver Spring. The Fine Art Festival is expected to draw about 130 artists who'll exhibit and sell their work ranging from ceramics, sculptures, paintings, jewelery, digital art, glass, fiber and metal art to photography.
Downtown Silver Spring is the perfect back-drop for a Fine Art Festival with its numerous public art displays throughout:
there's the A Brushstroke of Discovery, a mural on the Discovery Communications Headquarters Building, the Cresent, a 85' long pergola in front of the Crescent Condominiums, the Global Refugee Mural on Bonifant Street, the Lotus Columns on Blair Mill Rd, the Lion and the Mouse in front of the Silver Spring Library, the Spring Creek and the Synchronicity on Ellsworth Dr and many, many more.
The event is free and so is parking in all downtown public garages. The Metro's Red Line is also just a short walk away.
