8 Comments on Business Practices that have changed over the years
Depressign when you put it that way, Rob. There once were days where you could run from clients and have a moment of solitude, thanks Iphone, haha.
Remember the first cell phones? It was a Motorola phone (Where is Motorola now?) on top of a car battery!!
I don't miss pagers and having to carry quarters to use at the nearest pay phone when my pager buzzed. Carbon paper and typewriters have pretty much gone by the wayside. Fax machines don't get the use that they did a decade or so ago either.
Hi Rob, Does this mean that I can't write off my bar tab when "talking real estate" with my friends at girls wine night? Sigh. Yep, lots have changed over the years and technology a biggy. Depending on where you live, caravans and the office atmosphere is changing as well.
Michael: Cell phones are another form of ball and chain.
Bill; I vagly remember the brick phones.
Rick: Whats a pay phone? Theres something you hardly ever see!
Cindy; I think you can write girls night off and if you take me to lunch you can! Just better not have booze at noon unless its me!
Yeah now it is water and lemon! Lite caloried lunches. I needed it too. But I miss those drinks.
Door Knocking has been replace with email campaigns and networking functions. The drinks are still there, we just cal it a networking gathering. :) Maybe it is just a Southern thing
Sorry, I am still a little too young to remember any of that. Alcohol was always off limits, but I could take clients out for golf...still no alcohol on my part. And, as far as some of the jokes, I always stayed away from that type of humor unless I was in the company of my own colleagues after hours.
