You’ve decided you want to live in one of Los Angeles’ South Bay Beach Cities but which one is right for you? Sometimes the choice is dictated by price (Redondo Beach is the most affordable), sometimes it is dictated by location (Manhattan Beach is closest to Los Angeles International Airport) and other times your heart is set on a beach cottage within walking distance of the sand (Hermosa has retained much of its beach lifestyle charm).
If you’re uncertain about which beach city is for you, my best advice is to spend a few hours in each of the cities. Of course you’ll want to walk along the beach and stroll the streets lined with retail shops and restaurants. The flavor of a city is best tasted by observing the activity in the streets.
Next on your beach cities assignment list is a drive through the neighborhoods of interest. Hopefully, you are armed with a list of potential homes pinpointed by price and location. I’m not against dreaming, but this is a scouting mission and serious business. Limit your search to homes within your budget.
Take notes and notice your feelings. You are testing a new relationship and it’s perfectly normal to make some choices based simple on whether or not it ‘feels right’ for you. You’re seeking a connection, a place not only to grow a garden, but to sink your residential roots.
If you would like to send a representative to scout out homes of interest I’d be happy to help or accompany you and help you find your “it” home at the beach.
“Eeny, meeny, miny, moe”, which can be spelled a number of ways, is a children’s counting rhyme, used to select a person to be “it” for games (such as tag) and similar purposes such as counting out a child that has to be stood down from a group of children as part of a playground game. – Wikipedia
