Listings are a great source of new business

The spring market is in full swing in Central CT and my listings are a great source of new business. Well I am fully entrenched in the local spring market and business is definitely booming which is wonderful. It always makes me think there has to be better way to reel in this kind of business more consistently. So, this turned me back to AR to see how other agents work their business and basically get another perspective or idea of how to continue to grow my business.

A few weeks back I read post by Barbara Todaro, 'Business Doesn't Just Happen... Find the Source and Work it' it was simple, to the point and kind of the light bulb for me. I am always prospecting but generally get caught up in my business and don't spend enough time finding the source. One source is very obvious and that is my sphere of influence, friends and past clients are always happy to give out my name. I do a lot of the basic marketing and social marketing but I was missing a key source my listings.

My listings are a  great source of new business, recently I have had two key listings that have generated a lot of traffic one market is obvious; a waterfront listing at 60 Spellman Point, East Hampton is getting great activity.

329 Old Hebron Rd, Colchester CTThe other market I was very surprised by home in Colchester, CT that had previously been on the market for almost two years in total and now I was re-listing it after a 3-4 month break with some improvements. The home at 329 Old Hebron Rd, Colchester has been a hot ticket from day one of the listing. This listing was a classic case of when inventory is low and something new comes on the market the buyers flock to it. The open house brought out so many buyers I couldn't even get names for everyone. I have received a ton of inquiry calls and one of those is the buyer who won the multiple bids to buy the home. Even after the home went under contract I continue to receive inquiry calls so of course the light bulb finally went off that I need to market to the Colchester community to get more listings.

Now is really is the time to buy and I believe buyers are hearing all the positive reasons to buy a homes. So,  time for me to remember the basics and focus a little more on getting the listings, cause listings are a great source of new business.
