SRS -Seller Representative Specialist

I am considering taking this course. As one of my goals for 2008 is obtain my GRI-Graduate, REALTOR Institute. While researching dates etc... I ran across the SRS. This is a new designation. It is design to help agent educate themselves with seller representation.  To learn more about the SRS go to

SRS

This REALTOR designation can be obtained via a two day class or online. I would like to know the community thoughts, Pro and Cons if you will, on obtaining this designation via on online platform.

Seems like just another set of initials that don't mean much. It also isn't approved by NAR.  However if the class is good take it.  I've just sent off the paperwork for my CRS (Certified Residental Specialist) and had a selling course as part of the curriculum.  It was great.  It seems every time we turn around someone else has a designation for agents.

Cindy, I agree about the NAR. Did you take the on-line version?

There are so many with buyers initials it might be a good idea to go this route to differentiate yourself. On the other hand we all know who the current market favors

Charlie, I do these courses for the learning. I know many of Doctors that I would not go to and they have all those initials.

Frank- I have the ABR designation and I also have the SRS designation.  I did take the two day class.  I think it is worth it, even though a lot of the information you may already know, it keeps it fresh and allows you to ask "real life" questions

I saw the recent information on this course in a written publication. I think a classroom is always better than on-line just because of the interaction. Hope you have a wonderful New Year!

I guess it depends on your goals......for me, a classroom gives better education with interaction.  Online is for convenience.............

I think I will do the ABR and skip the other.  Maybe just another way to make money.
