Monopoly - Not the best use of your time.

That monopoly game on the computer is a great past time when you are bored, isn't it?  But, when you are supposed to be working, this game and other non-value added activities that you do in the office is not helping your income.  Instead of opening up Monopoly, think about these past time ideas that could help your business:

>Surf the Internet for various phrases that might yield some good information like: "proven real estate marketing ideas", "low cost real estate prospecting", "creative realty marketing", etc.

>Go visit a school.  The more you know about them, the more you can share with prospects.  Principals love to show-off their schools and make sure you always wear your badge in case you run into a new teacher or parent!

>Tour the hospital.  I am sure you will have no problems getting someone from the office to give you a tour because you can really help them by bringing in more residences into the community.  Don’t forget the badge!

>Work on your printed marketing material that you can hand out to people or place in CPA offices that are an extremely good place to market right now with the filing of income taxes.

>Take somebody to lunch!  You know the old saying, "Never eat alone" which is so true in this business.  If I can't find someone to take to lunch, I will at least call 4 people and get credit for asking.

>Program people into your cell phone, like me!!  So you will be ready the next time you get a prospect.

>Get in your car and ride around looking for FSBO's and to see what is going on in the community.

>Go into a neighboring MLS market and take a Realtor to lunch that you can set up a co-listing or referral relationship with.

The point here is that you have productive things you could be doing which can really help you increase your production and Monopoly isn't one of them.

I hope this helps motivate you!!   And if it does and you get more business from this, don't forget the mortgage guy that works with buyers in all 50 states that told you!!  I'll pre-approve your referrals in 20 minutes over the phone and close them smooth and easy for you!

Or, you could be reading articles on Active Rain to gain perspective of real estate practice across the country.

I field the phone inquiries which is half of our business.  I work from home and Active Rain is a good place to "tour".

Thanks Sam.
