Watching last night's first round of the NFL Draft showcase some really good football talent and some really bad cap wearers.

As each draftee was approaching the podium, they were given the appropriate cap to put on for their new team. A couple of them carried the cap a few steps before reluctantly putting it on. It's not clear whether they objected to the idea of wearing a cap or knew how silly it would look with their hair style.

Regardless, a few of the players had the cap perched on their head or just resting at an odd angle.

Seems that the teams need to get way bigger caps, they need to find something else to adorn their new players, or the draftees need to get an appropriate haircut before the ceremony in order to wear a cap correctly. I favor the last option.

For a several million dollar contract, is that too much to ask?

I can't disagree.  I'm also curious as to the quailty of the education they may or may not have received in college, esp after listening to them speak.  (shaking my head)

I think the personal pride in appearence has gone out the window.  And most of these people put the young ones at a disadvantage when they start to copy them.

Richard,

I've noticed that for years. Andrew Luck seems to be the exception. :)

William,

Money buys influence. They do indeed become instant role models. :)

Steve

Your right some of the players look bad with the hats on.

Good luck and success.

Lou,

Their hair definitely seems more important than the hat and the brand. :)

Steve- Larry and I watched the NFL draft last night and some of the caps did look ridiculous on.  Thank goodness for the Rookie salary cap... finally.  With a few exceptions it was hard to find someone I would consider a role model for young kids.

Howdy and evening Steve

Steve my friend, with the kind of money the players get paid, they sure should put on and be will to wear their new Team's hat proudly. That part of being a Team player.

Have a good one

Dale,

It's all part of education - by the teams and the league. :)

Hi Steve.  Pride and class are clearly lacking in the draft.

We have created a county that has giving our youth a sense of entitlement and I do believe that is the real problem here. They didn't get everything they wanted and now it is time to blame everyone else for it.

Todd,

And they are getting more money than they could ever imagine - with no experience only potential. :)
