Ah, the advantages of Web 2.0 and Social Networking!!!

I sent a message out this week to others on LinkedIn that were members, in my address book, but we hadn't linked up yet! There were over 300 of these people. It has been a blast! I am reconnecting with many people I haven't be in communication with it quite a while. They are sending me notes or asking where I know them from or just joining my network.

The funniest was an invitation from someone named Louis P to join his network. I haven't been accepting all invitations. I ususally make sure I really know the person. So, when I didn't recognize the name, I wrote back and said, "Do I know you?"
He replied,"My mother was the sister of your first husband's father."     And, folks, the funny thing is...this is the truth and I realized I did know him! But I divorced that husband 37 years ago....

Are you LinkedIn Yet? It may be a great way to connect with people in your database and re-connect with people you have seen or spoken to in a VERY long time!

And send me an invitation when you do!!!!

Some days, it's not what you know, it's who you know and I believe in 2008 that will be critical to be successful. That is one of the reasons you are here, n'es pas?

Happy New Year

LinkedIn is a great social networking site, it is important to continue to network thought cyber space, the problem I find is where do I get the time to participate in blogging and networking along with my normal job duties.

Take care!

Joann-Wow that's a lot of linked-in !!!!!  There are so many sites now that I feel it would be prudent to decide what we want from our online presence, and blog accordingly......as in clients....no-one can honestly take care of several needy clients at the same time....:)

Joeann - That is a funny story. I have been thinking about joining LinkedIn. There are just too many social groups out there to join and some of us have to sell a little real estate around here.

Hi Joeann - how coincidental since we linked together in the last day!  I'm still learning what these various sites I've joined are all about.  I think this one is more professional than some of the others, at least it seems that way at this point.

Happy New Year!

Robert  I agree with the time issue. LinkedIn seems low maintainance. I still am baffled by Twitter LOL!

Jabin  Thanks for coming by

Fran My mind is DEFINITELY on Hawaii. It is going to be the best Biz Planning Retreat I have ever planned!!Are you SURE you want to miss it? :>)

Ryan  And it probably isn't going to do anything but increase. Trick is to use the ones that are used by your perfect client profile!

Ann  I know! Yes, it has been around. I like the ability to recommend the person...

I just had it scan my Outlook for others that were part of the LinkedIn network, but I hadn't connected to yet. It was very easy. Then I just invited everyone (except a few LOL)
