I had a funny moment this morning. I was having one of those sleep in moments when you feel like you've been hit by a truck and then the noise started - but more of that in a moment.

The other day my wife was out shopping and she heard this hysterical baby laughter. She and a lot of other shoppers were looking around for the baby when this woman nearby pulled out her cell phone and answered it. Yep - that was her ringtone!

I have heard football anthems, favorite songs and for a while my son even had this real red neck one that said something like "HEY BUDDY - ANSWER THE DAMN PHONE", which was funny for a bit, but got old REAL quick!

So back to this morning. There I was snuggled up with my wife just in that wonderful moment between being awake and being asleep when this loud snoring started. I mean the loudest man snore you ever heard. It was my dog. She's a sweet chocolate brown lab called Katie and is such a lady, but every now and then she starts to snore and it is the funniest thing in the world - you have to know her to understand why I guess.

Anyway, I said to my wife that we need to record it and THAT could be her ringtone. The giggles started all over again!

So what's YOUR ringtone and what do you wish it was?

I just need a new phone!  It will be fun to pick one out when I do get one.  Right now, it's just boring.

I'd love to hear the dog snore!  Mine is boring...vibrate only, but I can still hear it across the room, if it's not on my person.

Happy New Year From Idaho!

It takes me forever to find a new tone. I usually find a song I love that I won't mind hearing over and over.

Hmmm, Simon.  It would have to be something with a really great opening riff, because I'm going to answer it, of course.  Queen would have some great ones (NOT "We Will Rock You).  Something like the opening of "Sweet Child of Mine" could tell me when my kids call.  Maybe "When I'm 64" for my husband ;)

Simon:

My ringtone now is "Sweet Home Alabama"

I had a ringtone of Ozzy's "Crazy Train" and it played the beginning.  I was at a closing with an older couple and had forgotten to turn the ring tone off.  The phone rang and these people jumped out of their chairs.  It would have been a comical moment if it wasn't my closing.  I acted as surprised as they were.  I then turned the cell phone off and said, "That will be enough of that".

Simon - My ring tone is Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones.  The ring tone for when my son calls me is Money Talks by AC/DC which I think is appropriate for when your 16 year old son calls. Most what my money is saying when he calls is "good bye".

Danke Schoen - Wayne Newton.  It is two fold.  It reminds me to be Thankful that the phone is ringing and it has become part of my Branding. ~Danke Schoen Nate

My ring-tone has been the Rocky theme for a long time, I still love it when it rings.  Thanks for the post.

I wish my ring could be my baby laughing but it won't let me. I have nature sounds!

There is a website where you can create your own ringtones for free and have them delivered to your phone (you only pay whatever your carrier charges you for receiving a file). It's phonezoo.com. I am sure you can find all kind of lredy customized ringtones, even the baby laughter ;)

Man I must be a square. After trying several different tones I came to realize that a ringing phone in public really annoys people...I have mine set for stun (vibrate) that way I can be a sort of "silent assassin"

The latest that an agent has here is it rings and then a man says "please to pick up the telephone" "ring ring" or something crazy like that.

Wishing all of you a happy new year and many good ringtones.

I'm deaf in one ear so the whole "silent" thing wouldn't work for me at all!! Happy New year to you and thanks for your comments.

I have several ringtones. My general ringtone for numbers I do not have programed in my phone is a female voice saying"Phone call for Tom." I also have music ringtones for friends, a ringtone for my wife, one for my broker, and one for each member of my family and my wife's. (I have spent close to $70 on ringtones over the past two years.) But the COOLEST thing I have on my phone is an answering service from YouMail. A friend of mine, Doug Devitre, sent me the information about the service. You program the person's number into their system and then you can record a personal greeting for that person if you do not answer the phone. All of my clients love it and it gives them more of a personal feel on a service level. Try it out, I am sure you will like it and find it useful. www.youmail.com

My wife's name is Christine so it's Kiss' song "Christine" for when she calls.

My office assistant's name is Beth so it's Kiss' song "Beth" for when she calls.

See a pattern here???

My best friend's name is Steve. Does anyone know of a song with "Steve" in the title?
