20 Comments on Remember Bob's Big Boy Restaurant....An American Tradition
While we don't have Bob's Big Boy restaurants in our corner of Canada, Kristin, I do remember the car trips to Disneyland and stopping off for a burger - a blast from the past for me!
Hi Karen,
And they still look the same inside but remodeled of course; padded booths, selling stuff at the register like shirts and toys, and paying at the register on your way out. So typical of our American history. I loved my visit.
Ahhhhh... I can taste their burgers just reading your title! Yum! I want one now! It was our family's tradition to eat there on family vacations when I was growing up, so just the thought brings back so many great memories. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. I didn't realize they still exist... haven't seen any around here.
Kristin, I do remember the Big Boy Restaurants. It is good to see them come back!
Kristin - I have certainly heard of Bib Boy Restaurants. But, for some strange reason I don't believe I have ever been to one. I should try to fix that one of these days:-)
I've seen them but I've never been in one! I'm not even sure where I have seen them. But I don't think it was in Houston.
Kristin, I do not have any significant memory concerning Big Boy Restaurants. But I know they make a great burgers.
Cal
I like the idea that they serve breakfast all day. Haven't heard of Bob's in our area; maybe some day.
Krisitin,
Don't think I've seen one for a while Have eaten in them across the country. :)
Steve
Hi Gretchen,
Yes there burgers are simply yummy and it is a real taste of nostalgia too.
Hi Tony & Darcy
, I think they are going to try to open some more as the Marriott has some ownership in the corporation and so expansion is the future. I am always glad when the little guy makes it. That is what makes our country so great.
Hi Myrl,
If you are traveling on the highway and you see one, you can bet you will get the same food, menu, and interior as one in another state. I like that expectation which is why I usually stay at the same chain of hotels as well. No surprises.
Hi Jeanne & Ralph,
Probably so as I think they have them there especially in a major metropolitan area there. Try it sometime.
Hi Cal,
You are so right, they do make wonderful burgers and I like a place where you can get breakfast any time of the day or night. Thanks for stopping and have a great weekend.
Hi Carl & Ceil,
Thanks for stopping and if you run across one in your travels, stop by and have a meal. Thanks for stopping and happy Saturday.
Hi Steve,
They may not have them in your area but if you run across one, stop in and eat. Try it and you will like it.
Kristin, I remember Bob's Big Boy in Hawaii when I was growing up...but for whatever reason, we never ate there. Looks like a great place, though...too bad I haven't seen one in the Sacramento area. Wonder where the nearest one is? :)
Leilani
Hi Leilani,
They were great breakfast places like Denney's or IHOP. But as we get older, we tend to shy away from greasy spoons but they are still great burger places. So if you happen to see one, stop in and have a burger. Thanks for stopping and have a great Monday.
Kristin,
Congratulations. Your post is now featured in the group "Americana." :)
Steve
Hi Steve,
