Hey Girl! Got goals? ...and are they YOUR Goals?

By

My parents wanted me to be a lawyer. But I don't think I would have been very happy. I'd be in front of the jury singing. ~ Jennifer Lopez

GOALS... We're all thinking about them, making them, or thinking about making them at this time of the year. We might be journaling them for ourselves, or discussing them with friends and even strangers here in the blogosphere. Do you feel pressured to adopt the goals of others? The dreams of another? Maybe, you want your business or career outlook this year, to be exactly the same as it was last year, but you want to focus on other aspects of your life!

Your goals should be genuine and come from you. The closer your goal is to your genuine self, aligning with beliefs and inner drive, the more successful you will be in obtaining it. Does your goal help accomplish or represent an inner conviction or something you stand for? By allowing sincere, heartfelt goals to come into focus, you will be able to reach them, and the world will benefit for your own unique and natural talents and abilities.

Ugh... tomorrow is the 31st and I still haven't written out my goals for 2008!  Apparently I've been slacking!  I guess I've been a busy girl... can't be too busy and forget about this though.  You are absolutely right about how important they are!

This is a very wise post, Julianna.  It is easy to get caught up in business competition. As a member of the sandwich generation with aging parents needing attention, and grandchildren entering into my life-I am constantly juggling goals & trying to delegate my time where it is needed most.  Your words help me to realize that I am trying to be authentic to myself and that is what will define success for me. Thanks!

Kathy.

I just wrote a new blog and I cover pretty much the same thing. My first recommendation is to BE TRUE TO YOURSELF. We are all unique in what we do and we must not look to mimic anyone else

I have learned that GOD directs our paths and we must follow what HE has called us to do. I am so much happier and at peace with this. Trying to be someone else NEVER works.

Happy New Year
