Over the holidays there hasn't been much on TV. Normally this would not be a problem but my husband has been off from work the entire month and watching TV and playing golf are his hobbies.
This is the time of the year for reruns. So what has he been watching? All the good old westerns I grew up with. I remember them well. There was RAWHIDE where Clint Eastwood got his start. I watched that when I was a very young girl. I just loved Clint Eastwood.
Then who could ever forget Matt Dillion on GUNSMOKE? I watched that when I was in high school. I lived with my grandmother and I we couldn't wait each week for Gunsmoke to come on. Seems like yesterday. We wondered why he never married Kitty. Does anyone know?
Another old favorite of mine is The PONDEROSA which gave Michael Langdon his start. It was indeed a sad day when in real life Michael Langdon died at a young life. Who could ever forget the Cartright family? Not me.
I can even go back further to Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, Howdy Doo Dee, Lone Ranger and Tonto, and all those other old shows. This all shows my age but who cares...I'm alive and well in College Station, Texas.
I love the new shows and can't wait for them to return. But this break was enjoyable with Gunsmoke, Rawhide, and Ponderosa in our home for the holidays.....
I know exactly what you mean, Kay! Those old shows can take you right back to those good ol' days.... I love to do that...Best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year!
