Are you and your broker doing your seller a disservice?

Making appointments to show active homes listed for sale is usually an easy task. I usually make 1 call to CSS or Showing Time (sometimes both) and I am ready to go. There are, however, still some Maryland brokerages that choose (refuse) to not jump into the 21st century and use one of these services. I am fine with that IF THEY ANSWER THE PHONE?

My mid weekend rant ~ Today I am making appointments for a showing tour tomorrow. The buyer wants to see 10 homes in the Howard County area. Two of the homes are listed by the same brokerage. Instructions are to CALL OFFICE. Since 11am today until now, just past 4pm, there has been no-one at the office picking up the phone to make the appointments. Both agents have also failed to return my call.

"DOES YOUR SELLER KNOW THAT I CAN'T SHOW MY WELL QUALIFIED AND EAGER TO PURCHASE BUYER HIS/HER HOME BECAUSE THE BROKERAGE HAS FAILED TO COVER THE PHONES?

I gotta tell you Ellie.

I've run into this and as long as the record is complete, I knock on the door if the houe is prime.

I don't like to do that, but sometimes it's necessary.

If I've previewed the home, the agent has probably contacted me - or not.

I still believe that many agents make it hard to see properties because they don't want to co-op.

Ellie, it's probably those same agents that don't want their cell phone numbers published onto the MLS so as to not be bothered by calls from agents
