I had penciled in to take off from 12/19 until 1/2/08, and was really excited about having all that time for Christmas cards, etc.

I have ended up taking on a new investor buyer and showed him property on Christmas Eve. Plus, I had a FSBO contract the buyer's Mom wanted to "present" as a birthday gift on Christmas Eve; we just did the inspections yesterday.

I'm THRILLED to have these new opportunities!

I've decided I'll take a few days elsewhere in January, to compensate myself for the "lost days" this December.

Carol, those sound like good reasons to give back a little of your vacation time.  Good luck!  Don't forget to make up for lost time in January.

Carol - good for you.  I too am trying to take some time off while my son is out of school.  I have spent time "cleaning out closets" and reorganizing.  My tasks today and tomorrow are my home-office.  It's great you will give yourself those days back next month!
