This is just a questions for our self-proclaimed tech geeks. I'm seeing a lot of requests for "Fave Exchanges" on Technorati. I assume this is just for Technorati rankings? I thought Google was down-rating link exchanges unless they were done in the 3-step circle. Does Technorati not work the same way? And is the 3-step circle information still correct, or did that also change when Google changed the algorithms?
And then there's the fact that I can't "claim" my Active Rain blog with Technorati. I have it claimed through MyBlogLog, but I can't claim it through Technorati. Does anyone know the reason for that? I also can't claim my Blogger blog, MyBlogLog or my Bloglines blog, even though it says I should be able to.
One more monkey wrench, but in reverse. I tried to claim my Technorati page in MyBlogLog, and it wouldn't take. That's the first time I've had a problem in MyBlogLog. Do these two just not want to work together?
Thanks for any information you can provide. It's all I can do to keep up lately.

The technorati blog claim has never "stuck" for me. I've had to redo it a few time. I'm also kind of internetted out and exhausted by all the "opportunities" to network out there. Yeesh
Lisa.... I guess I will park it here, because I am semi lost.... you talk about 3 step circle information? Is that in between the 2 step dance and the 12 step program? My problem is that I can't get my blog log recent readers thingy to show up on my right side. Bueller? Bueller?
Chris- I'm pretty overwhelmed too. Technorati used to be the biggest but around here it looks like MyBlogLog has taken over. And based on the results and ease-of-use, I can see why!
Jeff- I forget who wrote the post... I think it was Karen George, about the 3-step circle of linking. If you exchange links between 2 sites or posts, they cancel each other out. So you link one to the next one, then the third one back to the first one. I guess Google is OK with that. But I don't know if tat information is still accurate wince Google changed it's algorithm. What was Bueller's friends name? That's me.
Hey Lisa, I have never been able to get technorati to work for me....never been able to get mybloglog to work either. :( Maybe that should be my New Year's Resolution. :)
Stephanie- MyBlogLog is usually pretty easy to figure out. It just takes some time of wandering around the site until you get the hang of it. I think you probably shouldn't bother with Technorati. I don't think I will anymore either.
I've heard of Technorati, but haven't looked into it. Guess I won't for now. MyBlogLog? This is new. 3-link circle? Parking! I'm in! Will take any lessons you care to share.
