This is not about the horrific job of moving your office, but about the steps you should take when selecting a brokerage to associate with.  It has been my experience that you can tell a lot about the agents in an office based solely on the Employing Broker.  But here are a few thoughts about selecting the right office:

1) Fit before Finances - Make sure you fit in the office culture ... if you don't fit you will not function

2) Needs ... Do you need training, coaching, hand-holding or do you what to be left alone?

3) Supervision ... Do you want someone to review each contract or someone that just handles problems?

4) Administration ... Do you need administrative help?

5) Friendships ... Do you want an office where long term friendships are created and everyone is buddy-buddy?

6) A$$ Kicking ... Do you work better under the pressure of desk fees due every month ... or do you need the cushion of only paying fees when you close a deal?

Each one of the above has good and bad points ... I do not think I need to belabor the obvious.

But before you make a switch, make sure you fit.

I have now moved on with Century 21 All Islands of Maui and it does make a difference that you are seasoned.
