Riptides restaurant opens in Ormond Beach Florida
Riptide's Raw Bar and Grill is now open in the former Barnacles seafood location at 869 S. Atlantic Ave. in Ormond Beach.
The new husband and wife owners hope the new format will make it a local and tourist destination. The restaurant is open seven days a week from 11 AM to 2:00 AM. Much of the seafood served is from Florida. Steak, sandwiches and other specialties will be served in addition to the Oysters and seafood.
The new owners have been renovating the building since January, adding pool tables, a raw bar, TV’s and many other improvements to the decor.

Good morning, Al.... I'll put my order in for little necks.... I don't suppose I can get baked stuffed clams there!!!

Al, Nice showcase on Riptide Restaurant. Sounds like a new place that will do well in Ormond Beach!
Al i would much rather see a riptide on land than in the sea. Great job promoting a new local business. have a great day
Thanks for dropping into comment Roy, Larry & Sheila and Scott, I appreciate your comments and support. Have a great day.
Roy, that would be great, I need to try to get out to some of these new places.
Larry & Sheila, the location is good so it is up to them with the food and service.
Scott, thanks, you have a great day too.
Al,
I wish the new business owners much success and to you and yours as well. Floridians are hard-working people, they weather the storms and they rebuild. This husband and wife are fine examples of what hope and inspiration can do.
You've done a great job promoting their business. It will be fun to come back down the road for another blog post of how they progressed. They deserve success and so do you!
Al,
I hope the new owners can make this place work. The restaurant business is tough place to make any money. The food sounds good and I wish I could try it. We love seafood.
Bottom line, the drinks are small, the food mediocre and the "Bar Manager" (owners little brother) is an arrogant punk. I ordered a Jameson and was given a glass with about 1/4 inch in it ($7); when I complained I was told by the "Bar Manager" to get out of HIS bar and never come back (I am also a local and was a steady customer and good tipper)
Avoid this place, there are plenty of bar/restaurants nearby that have professional staff; Beach Buckets, Bonefish Grill, Charlie Horse, Black Sheep.
