Beautiful Post Mel... Don't you just love that Seth Godin? You have a beautiful day, and may the joy you give out be returned to you ten fold.... Beth
You are one strange bundle of sunshine. Something is saying thank you to a stranger today.
How about your son in law? Any updates?
Thank you Beth! Seth makes me think... but it's especially nice when he agrees with me :)))
I've been called stranger things... Kevin :))) I posted some updates... he's doing so much better. Thanks for asking and thanks for your prayers!
Mel,
Love this story, it reminded me of when Oprah crossed the Golden Gate bridge, and left $500 to pay for the next 100 drivers. All size dents matter, and I am so happy your son-in law is doing better. All the best, you can count on a continuous stream of love and hugs from us. A
Mel~ I've been very aware recently of many selfish people in my midst and I'll tell you, it drives me absolutely crazy. I want to hand them a sign that says SELFISH in big letters. I wonder sometimes if they have any idea how oblivious they are to the world around them.
This morning I made a small dent. We had brunch at Country Buffet after church. The restaurant is made up of booths and tables. The booths are very popular so they fill up first. We had to settle for a table today. I noticed 2 folks that were looking for a booth and they were trying to decide if the previous customers were gone, or simply at the buffet. I knew he was gone. I saw him get up and say goodbye to his waitress. I spoke up to let them know that he was gone so that they could take the booth. They were very happy and plopped themselves down. No thank you, just a weak smile. I was disappointed, but I would do it again.
I like that making a DENT in the universe. Sometimes we all think we are not doing enough. Have a good Sunday Mel.
It starts with a great atitude and grace. We need to remember that our lives are better than many others. Always be thankful!
Ha... that's funny Alexandra! I love Oprah... she's a very generous person! Just think how that one simple act made so many people's day!
Donna ~ I know it's disappointing when the recipient of kindness doesn't acknowledge it, but kudos to you for doing it anyway! The satisfaction is all yours ;)
I like making a Dent in the Universe too... Gary!
I totally agree Dale... count our blessings one by one!
Anyone that reads your blog knows what an awesome human being you are Mel. Today you have set the bar one rung higher. Your action is a fine example that we should all give more and be grateful for all that we are given.
Mel
It's a good thing to make someones day, and it looks like that's what you did today.
good luck and success.

Hi Mel, someone has done that for me before! I was so stunned but it made my day and couldn't stop smiling! I just finished landscaping my neighbor's front yard - she needed help, I love digging in the dirt. She'll now sit on her front step every afternoon the sun is out. I love that! Makes me happy.
That's awfully sweet Jeffrey! It was only a few cups of coffee... nothing earth shattering and it was fun doing it ;)))
Thanks Lou! I got a little kick out of the element of surprise ;)
That's so cool... Andrea! I'm certain your neighbor will be thanking you for months to come ;)))
I think I will do that? You are truly a wonderful and beautiful person. I bet you get that a lot
Pay it Backward: What a lovely idea! Brian
Smiles... Charles ;))) Thank you for the lovely comment.
Cool... Nancy! It only takes a spark to get a fire going ;)
Lovely indeed... Brian!
Mel
Just think of all the positive energy you release into the cosmos. The recipients of your gift must have thrown off some great feelings into the universe for at least part of the day. It all pays. cheers cvc
Pay it forward, backward, next door, however - just do it. I like your "dent in the universe." In fact, I'm heading out in the next few minutes, I'll look for a few magical moments.
( Hope your son-in-law is doing okay - )
It brings me great joy when I think about it... Curtis!
I like it Debb... Forward, backward or next door... It feels good to make a dent in the universe! (I've posted updates about Alex on... My Heart Sank).
Hi Mel, I came to see what you were up to...:) And, I got my answer to the Alex question...I shall wander over there...
