cruise ship in Santa Barbara

As we were heading out towards Santa Barbara this morning, we noticed a cruise ship in the distance.  We have smaller cruise ships that make a stop in Santa Barbara usually on Sunday.  There was a mist over the harbor this morning, so the ship appears ghostly.  It dwarfs the sailboats near by.

art walk in Santa Barbara

As the tourists disembark into Santa Barbara, they can enjoy meandering in the park, where the art walk takes place every Sunday, or head up State Street and shop or lunch at our many fine eateries.

Happy Sunday to all, Cheers Ron & Alexandra

R and A,

The only way the first photo would be better if it you were inside the cruise-ship sailing off on a vacation.

Kathy,

We would love to see you here.  We have a newish restaurant here which I will write about soon, and it has some of the most innovative dishes, fusing Mexican, Central and South American cuisine.  They do it all tapa style, and they have the best margaritas there.  They only serve artisanal tequila, they have 73 offerings.  The atmosphere is big city/NY style and is unusual for Santa Barbara.  We would love to introduce you both to one of best. A

Patty,

Thanks for that sweet thought.  Neither one of us is that fond of cruises.  We loved our cruise through Greece because we were off the ship every day on long explorations of each island.  We like being active and exploring, and if we are going to flake, we like Hawaii for slow time.  We wish you a great week ahead and many sales pending.  All the best, A

Looks wonderful Alexandra!  My kind of day!  That ship sure does dwarf the sailboats!  It looks huge!!!

DeeDee,

Given that we have a small harbor, it look like it was enormous.  However compared to other cruise ships we have seen, it is small.  I don't think we could accomodate something like that.  When we had an aircraft carrier in town, it was anchored way in the distance, as I am guessing that the water was not deep enough any closer. Looks like you had a lovely Sunday in the park, Alexandra. You did what I love to do--stroll and look at art while enjoying the view.
