32 Comments on Selling Your New Hampshire Home - The Magic Of Mulch
Perfect example, Sharon. I particularly ilke the dark mulch, too. The contrast has more impact then the lighter variety. Nice job!
Sharon, Brilliant-and I agree with Kim, the dark mulch is the way to go (no red mulch thank you) and it is both dramatic and DEFINES THE SPACE.
What a difference Sharon! It is amazing and so clean looking.
Not at all like lipstick on a pig..............more like lipstick on an Academy Award Winner!
Great example, Sharon! May I ask sellers to stay away from the artificial-looking red mulch? It just looks so cheap. Go for the dark brown, or even the black if your exterior color palette calls for it.
Bruce: Even less expensive if you do the job yourself. A small investment in mulch goes a long way!
Craig: It seems so obvious, but many people don't realize how dramatic a transformation it will make.
Kim: I've always been a fan of the darker mulch....I have used lighter (natural shavings from wood chipper) in the past to fill areas around bird feeders or give wooded areas a cleaner look.
Joanna: Not a fan of the red or orange mulch....not at all!
Al & Peggy: and this was a diy job...imagine what a professional landscaper could do!
Roger: All about the movies with you, isn't it? LOL!
Julia: Amen to that!
Looks so much better, really defines the beds. That's next on my list for my own home! Love the smell of fresh mulch, depending on what type it is...some varieties smell really bad!
4:26am...Wow, that's early! Early riser or insomniac?
Cindy: I've only had the good smelling mulch, LOL! As for the 4:26....I posted this at 7:26 am. Must be an east coast, west coast thing.
Sharon, its like a dress without the hem, it finishes it off! BTW judge, Pick me, Pick me!!!! LOL
Hi Sharon - Your exactly right and your photos speak volumes about Selling Your New Hampshire Home - The Magic Of Mulch
Ellen: Ooohhh, another great analogy. I'm loving all these clever ways of expressing the magic that is mulch! As for my judgely duties....I can be bought with homemade tomato sauce!
John: Thank you!
Sharon, just went to check out the progress on an upcoming listing of mine. They "mulched"!
Great blog!
Lydie: That's great! Shows that they take curb appeal seriously! Let's hope they are as serious with the interior!
Great post... bag of mulch for the exterior is what a can a paint is to the interior...fresh, inexpensive update often overlooked! I am a fan of the darker stuff mostly, sometimes the red can be a bit much. Beautiful photo and example of how great it can look.
Ana: Thanks! It's simple: define the area with dark mulch and add color with plants for impact. It can make or break your curb appeal "wow" factor!
Hi Sharon,
Love fresh mulch. Definitely improves curb appeal. I also am on the side of dark mulch.
Linda: Dark is the best. It needs to be raked every so often to keep it's color but it's worth it!
Wendy: Thank you!
