So, I'm thinking that this year is all about change.  It's huge!  If we are going to go from good to great true and real change needs to occur.  Change can't be "feel good, esoteric crap.  A great friend of mine....Rich Brennan, founder and coach at The Brennan Method said that you need to....

RUN TOWARDS THE FIRE....

One is thing is conflict.  Most people hate it.  I do think that it serves it's purpose.  I remember hearing that Thomas Edison, when his barn that had all of the inventions burned down, called his kid(s) and said "come on out here and see this.  One of the kids said...but dad all of your inventions are there."  He said "some of those inventions were bad, others I will improve, but a fire such as this you will never see."

I think most people run

FROM the fire....when in reality we need to run TOWARDS THE FIRE!!!

This is huge...it needs to occur.  Most people run from....but in doing so they never confront the issues that ALWAYS are in front of them...and as a result, they will never have the opportunity to have a victory, but not just any victory, but a major victory.  Your life changes as you have one small victory, but when you run to the fire for the the first time, instead of running away from it, then you can have a major victory....

Think about that success and change!!!!

Great post - embracing change rather than fighting and running from it really does make all the difference!

Anthony Durnford was made famous by riding to the sound of the guns. It’s said Custer quoted him and also rode to the sound of the guns.

In the Marines we were taught to survive, attack! Running towards the fire is the best, often only way to over come it!

Great post!

It should be noted that Durnford was riding towards the Zulus when he was killed! We all know about Custer. Still the alternative is to give up. God bless those that run towards the fire they can save themselves and offer the rest of us a chance.

Well said Larry.  We might get knocked down when we run towards it but that's what builds character & strength.  It prepares us for the really hard challenges that we sometimes HAVE to face.

this was just the advice I needed today.  I probably am going to have to do something very distasteful, and I am loathing it.

Rich always says nothing is status quo... we are either moving up or moving down... I believe that to move up we must run towards the fire...  Have a Great Day Larry
