Food Truck Fridays in RenoIt's the latest and greatest foodie fad.  Food trucks have come a long way from serving greasy concoctions to construction workers on a job site.  As you may well be aware of, Reno has some of the best restaurants around.  That even extends to these mobile mini-eateries.  Last month saw the first of what the Reno area hopes will be a long-term trend: Food Truck Fridays in Reno.

Currently, Food Truck Fridays brings several food gourmet truck vendors, including GourMelt (the grilled cheese truck), Lawrence Pizza Co, Sauce Wagon (BBQ), BoDawgs (gourmet hot dogs) and Island Ice (desserts), to the old downtown Reno bus station at Center and 4th St on the first Friday of every month.  This month, that will be this Friday, May 4, 2012.  Due to the amazing turnout from their first Food Truck Friday last month, more and more gourmet food truck vendors are signing up all the time.  Beginning this Friday, the Great Basin Brewing Company will be hosting a beer garden.  Enjoy live music while the kids play on the school bus playground.  Each month will bring a new musical act to the venue.  And, since three hours just wasn't enough time last month, the new hours for Food Truck Fridays in Reno is from 5pm to 9pm from now through October.

Take the family out for a fun night on the town at Food Truck Fridays in Reno.  While it is only available the first Friday of every month, it may soon prove popular enough to bring it out every weekend.  Wouldn't that be a real treat?
