It finally happened.  We moved into our new downtown condo this past week.  It's an adjustment.  We've never lived anyhwere other than the edges of the city in typical suburban digs.  I'm already loving the fact that we can walk to almost everything we enjoy doing.  Dinner, entertainment, shopping, etc...

I'm looking forward to agressively pursuing a business niche in the sale and marketing of central city residential units as well.  This is a newer market for Madison.  I was doing some research on which active real estate agent's have done the most business in the central city and I believe there's opportunity to build business here.

Imagine, gas could rise to over $4/gallon in 2008.  I have over 1000 living units within walking distance.  I would only need to drive out to my office to turn in my paperwork and collect commission checks.

This could be fun....

Here's the view from my desk.  We're on the 9th floor facing west and south from this side of the building.

When my wife and were first married we lived in a downtown apartment, and we often miss it. Walking to dinner on a Friday evening, walking around downtown and happening to come across a concert in the park. So much to do. I am envious.

Kevin-other than having to purge a lot of stuff we'd filled a 3000 sq. ft. basement with, I'm looking forward to being less encumbered and more involved.  My 1 concern was the noise factor, so far I've not heard a thing either from the common walls or the floor above us.  Hopefully this is indicative of the construction of the building.

It's funny how life seems to come full circle.  I lived downtown while in college and couldn't wait to get to the 'burbs'.  Now I'm excited about being back downtown.

Darren  What a view!  West & south?  You're looking right at Tulsa.  Maybe by the end of 2008 everything will be digital and you won't even have to take your paperwork in to the office.  You'll scan and email it instead!  Congratulations on your move.

Congrats on the new place Darren!  Glad to hear that you finally moved in.

I need to get back to Madison sometime soon, I miss that place. (except for the winters)

Thanks Gary.  Loving the location more and more each day.  It's nice to be able to walk places again.  I lived in Chicago for 6 years and for 3 of those didn't even own a car.  Now I need to focus on building our business in this downtown market and I'll be able to sell houses without using my car!

have a great weekend.
