It has always been a source of great comfort for me to think about angels watching over us.
Many times we have seen evidence that we were given protection. For those who don't believe that, you are welcome to disbelieve if you chose.
Our eldest son learned a valuable lesson about 22 years ago.
He had taken his brother to school one early morning. He was driving my station wagon way to fast of a slick highway when the car in front of him stopped. He did not have room to stop and plowed into the car.
I got a call from a business owner on the road who said " your son has been in a wreck and we need you to come right away."
The reason my son was driving by himself was due to my need to recover from surgery.
I recovered really quickly. I arrived at the scene of the wreck within minutes of the call.
The car was a crumpled mess. My son was no place to be found. I panicked !
The man who called me must have figured out who I was at that point because he came over and said" your son was taken on to the hospital, what would you like for us to do with the car?"
Who cared about the remnants of the car? Certainly not me!
I went to the hospital wondering what had happened to my other son who had not been mentioned.
When I arrived at the hospital, my older son was sitting on a bed with an ice pack on his head.
All he had sustained in the crash was a smiley faced cut on his forehead. He looked up when he saw me and said "hi mom! I think I subscribe to your guardian angel theory now."
His brother had not been in the car. He had been dropped off at school when his brother realized he had left a book report at home.
He was attempting to put a pleat in the distance back to the house.
For anyone who doubts the presence of angels, would not doubt if they saw that car!
We have reminders of our helpers all over the house and yard. We are grateful for their help!
