With a little inspiration from Linda Davis, Nima Rezvan, and Jeff Belonger, I have put together a business plan to increase my local marketing plus enjoy a round of golf and have it all cost me virtually nothing.
So here is the plan: Take two averages Joes, that would be Marc Blasi and me. Then, we go around to the local golf courses and offer to write a review on their course that will be viewed by thousands, if not millions (Localism.com). - Thanks Linda for giving us the idea of trying out for the PGA circuit (I think this is the closest that we would get). Plus, we can start the comedy routine by sharing our wacky adventures on the course. (Yes, that is how Marc dresses and approaches the ball when we play golf. He would not let me use a real picture, so I had to use a clipart for illustration purposes.)
Now, if the golf course manager is smart, he will not only offer us a free round, but comp us for a second free round. (Which of course, we will use as a promotion to draw people in... enter to win a free round of golf at XYZ Golf Club at http://www.knightlinesmtg.com/). So now you have the average Joes out on the course. We will review the course from that perspective, and not from that of the professional golf course reviewers. After all, most play is done by the average golfer. Why not have the opinion of one?
After our wonderful round of golf and a couple snapshots of the course, the review is written and submitted to ActiveRain.com and its sister site, Localism.com. And for an added bonus, we will contact the local newspaper asking them to publish our write-up of the course for their real estate or sports section. Hey, that's usually free according to Nima's advice. Thanks, Nima.
Now there is the marketing... of course we are going to throw Knightlines Mortgage Services, LLC and PGA Golf Realty (Internet Realty Brokers) into the posts and articles. Why not? Get some company exposure. But other than the quick blurred about the company, most of the advertising will be about two average Joes, a mortgage broker and a real estate agent, trying their luck on a course and sharing their humorous events to promote themselves. Heck, we will even throw Localism.com in there to drive some traffic to the site. - Thanks, Jeff.
So with a little luck, these two average Joes can play some not so good courses, average courses, and those courses that we dream of playing (but can't see the point of paying those kind of prices just to play) for free. In return, we get to advertise not only the golf courses but also ourselves and our businesses. It sounds like a win-win situation to me. If you want to try the idea out in your neck of the woods, go for it. Just stay out of South and Central Florida... that's our turf. J/K.
