Services for Real Estate Pros with RealSupport Inc.

Today, LinkedIn has over 150 million users. As experienced real estate agents, it’s no surprise that you are one of them. But how well do you know how to utilize this professional social network? If you don’t use this platform very often or have yet to explore the facets of its use, you’ve come to the right place. As your real estate virtual assistants, we want to make sure you are getting the most out of your social networking efforts, and we know LinkedIn can often times get over looked. LinkedIn is more than just obtaining a ton of connections and displaying your resume. From the social network itself, LinkedIn News has provided us with 13 ways to use LinkedIn to its fullest. To save time, we’ll just go over a few. Enjoy!

URL Optimization: Similar to Facebook, LinkedIn will automatically give your profile its own unique URL that is just a jumble of numbers. Clean it up and choose a custom URL for your profile. This way you will be more distinguished and searchable/findable. You will also be more likely to show up in a Google search this way.

Groups: Just like the real world, LinkedIn offers a whirlwind of groups for almost every industry and skill set. Just run a simple search and select a group that you think you would fit in well with. Stay up to date with industry-related news and also make new connections

Google Search Results: When you Google your name, what comes up? For some people it’s Facebook, for others their blog, and for others LinkedIn. According to LinkedIn news, LinkedIn is Google’s preferred result when it comes to people searches. You never know who might be searching for you, or who will stumble across you if you share the same name with someone who is being searched – so make sure your profile is completely up-to-date at all times. It’s very likely that your clients and potential clients will be Googling you, and you want to make a good impression.

Is Your Profile Complete? Employers are constantly searching the LinkedIn interface for new employees. Don’t miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime by neglecting your profile. Even if you plan on staying put at your current position until the end of time, it’s never a bad idea to keep your profile complete and up-to-date with your complete work history, skills and education. You never know…someone in a completely different industry could be using LinkedIn to find their next listing or buyer’s agent.

Sync It: So you’ve got your Facebook and Twitter synced up, and even your blog feeds to your social networking sites. But what about LinkedIn? Did you know that you can link your tweets to your professional profile on LinkedIn? Don’t let your Twitter updates go unnoticed for even a second. Sync it up with your LinkedIn profile so your professional followers can continue to see what you’re up to in yet another place in cyber space. What’s even cooler? You can set this up so that only your tweets with the hashtag of #li or #in are fed to your LinkedIn status. If you’re an avid tweeter, this is the way to go. Find out how to link your Twitter and LinkedIn status under “settings” on your Twitter account.

So how are you using LinkedIn? We know there are so many different social media sites and endless strategies for implementing them into your everyday marketing. That is why your real estate virtual assistants are here to keep you up-to-date on the world of social media, and help you be successful with it. If you’re finding that keeping up with all of your social media accounts is just too much, give us a call! We’d be happy to take it over for you so you can focus on what you do best!

Have a great day!

Hi Patrick, thanks for the comment! We're glad that you found our post about LinkedIn so informative. So many people overlook it and don't see the value in investing time on it, but it really is important to be on there. Think of it as an online resume. It's a social media site designed purely for your professional persona, so you can share important information about your business without feeling like your spamming people.

Laura and Carole, we're glad we could remind you! In our opinion, feeding to LinkedIn is perhaps more crucial than any other feed. Everyone spends time on Facebook and Twitter on a daily basis. It's part of most people's daily routine. Sometimes, with how busy we can get, it's easy to forget LinkedIn. Syncing up ensures that you have an active presence on there, even if you don't log in every day. It's important! Thank you again for the comment!

Hi Tyra, indeed it is a great tool! Just like other industries, real estate agents can really learn a lot from each other if they take the time to connect and trade technology tips, marketing ideas and selling strategies. It's also a sort of online resume, so any consumer who would stumble across your profile can see your qualifications immediately, prompting them to contact you further. It IS nice to have these social media sites available so that you can make initial connections with others in your area from the comfort of your own home.

Have you joined any referral groups on LinkedIn? These are also great ways to connect with other agents and get referrals for clients who could be relocating to your area. With LinkedIn, it's great to think outside of the box.

Thank you again for the comment Tyra! We hope you'll find some of our other blogs helpful!
