The photos below were taken at one of our recent Certified California Grown Farmer’s Markets, which gather in the Greater Sacramento region.  We are fortunate to have these markets congregate at different locations, on various days of the week.  Over the years, their popularity has continued to grow.

I enjoy attending the market, at Sunrise and Folsom Boulevards, in the Light Rail Station parking lot.  It is my tradition, to jump out of bed on Saturday mornings, and head out, to root and forage among the produce:-)

The flowers, strawberries, and artichokes were especially nice this week.

You can click this link for a schedule of all the Farmer's Markets in the Greater Sacramento Area

If you are in the vicinity, stop by and treat yourself to something nice!

John - For me, it is always Saturday mornings, that set the world straight once again.  I am certain it is the ability to attend these great marketplaces, and once again restock the refrigerator for the coming week.  I also picked up some fresh Fava Beans to have with a fine Chianti. . .tsk, tsk!

Juli - The strawberries were jump off the table gorgeous, and really really fresh and sweet.

Alexandra - While all the flowers were absolutely gorgeous this week, the purple roses were absolutely my favorites.  And you're right about their fragrance.

Myrl, all the roses are gorgeous and the strawberries looks tempting and fresh. Buying local to support the community is a good practice.

Amazing photos. they make the flowers and fruits come alive. I must say that California has the best artichoke dip I have ever tasted. Must be the freshness because it beats even the artichokes shipped here to MD from your great state.

Kwee - You're absolutely right.  In addition to buying local providing the freshest of produce, we are able to support the community.

Chris Ann - I bought a 1/2 flat of the strawberries, and they were so sweet.

Martha - I've very fond of the artichoke dip too.  We have a local grocer that provides a fresh version of it in the deli.

Rose - I'm glad you like them.  I hope you are having a wonderful week!

Hi Myrl, The Farmers Market photos are wonderful. I went to one in Carmel and they had stawberries the size of large Apples for 50 cents each. Unbeliveable and I have never seen them since.

Wonderful shots Myrl!  Those strawberries just jump out and make me want to grab a few.  Lucky you for living somewhere that has these fabulous farmers markets.  We have them too... in the summer.
