24 Comments on Traveling 680 Miles to an Open House...It's a Record!
wow that is awesome. I love it when another rainer is passing through and wants to meet up. It makes the day a very special one for sure.
I was going to add the same but see Kamal beat me. I caught one in SD and that was just a tad over 1100 miles...
The only thing is mine didnt come with an AR member so YOU win! (lol)
Peace
Hi Mona, how awesome is that! AR is indeed a "little" family. I'm planning on visiting some when I get on the road again .. I've made it to VA to visit with Mike Cooper but I believe I'm about 580 miles shy of Gene's record.
Hi Mona -- it definitely gets your attention such a trek for an open house. Tell us about the property and was it worth the drive...and will you be going again...and why? Just curious...
It is not uncommon for people to come to open houses here in Florida from all over the country. They often travel here to search for a first or second home. They thus may avail themselves of open houses.
It's a gueling path... but sometimes you gotta drive it, eh? :)
Very cool, but I just flew 1,064 miles to have lunch with my BARFF in Fort Lauderdale.............
I have to be close. Had a fellow from Toronto visit my open house in Naples Florida. He did not buy it that day, but he now owns it! Enjoy your day!
Good morning Mona. Wow, that's some story. I think that meeting face to face must be special. I hope to be able to gave that too, in the future. I think you need a new picture, Your hair is so different I never would have recognized you. Just sayin...
Winston, it was fun and I'm glad our paths crossed.
Martha, Gene and his wife made it happen. I'm glad they took a break from golf and shopping to visit.
Andrea, I'm jealous...I want to visit with Mike Cooper...and you!
Terry, it was our listing and totally worth the drive. I'm not sure Gene and Carolyn were in the market for a second home...but they seemed to like the chili.
Erv, I guess that's true. The houses are easier to find in Florida though than here I'll bet.
Laura, It's all a journey, right?
Roger, that IS very cool...but did you go to her Open House?
Wayne, was he an AR member? Enjoy your day also.
Shoot Sheila, I'm getting a haircut in an hour...it will be different again. If I got a new photo every time my hair looked different...well, I'm just saying...your photo hasn't changed either missy. Come visit and we'll both get new pictures, lol.
I did not.............you got me there!
Mona, I actually look like my photo. I wrote a blog about it months ago, showing the old me and the new one. If I find it I will paste it here. Visit....now that's nice.
OK Mona, I found it.
Change your Picture, It's Time......
The visit with Gene and Marilyn was very nice and I'm so glad to have met them. Now, I would just like to say that although I admit to being vertically challenged and horizontally "fluffy", none of the three of us are as wide as we appear in this picture. I'm just saying.
And don't you forget it Roger!
Sheila, I got my hair cut this morning and now I look like my photo. Just wait though, by the time 8 weeks rolls around it looks puffy again.
Leslie, I was thinking the same thing. We'll have to take it up with Marilyn.
Wow, with that kind of effort, I hope you had a big turnout.
Jill, we had a great turnout...but then, we usually do! This was great, the house was immaculate, the day was beautiful and the food turned out well.
Mona: I'm ashamed to say, I just read your post today! I've been playing lots of catch-up since arriving back home. (I think I need to leave town more often. The business exploded!) Marilyn and I both send another huge "thank you" your way for your wonderful hospitality and kindness while we visited. You and Leslie were perfect hosts and we enjoyed our time with you immensely.
Hopefully it's just the start of our visiting back and forth. Next time ... you and Leslie must come our way!
Gene
