If you live in the Greater Princeton NJ area and haven’t made plans for tonight here are a few ideas of things to do.

• Art - Grounds For Sculpture will be open starting at 6pm exclusively to the Rat’s restaurant’s dinner guests. Enjoy the four course tasting menu and live Jazz. 609-689-1089
  

• Music - State Theatre, New Brunswick – Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’s Neuhjahrskozert will perform at 6 pm.          

• Drama - Off-Broadsreet Theater in Hopewell will have a New Year’s Eve gala at 7:30 pm. Please call 609-466-2766.
  

• Events - Hogmanay New Year’s Eve Bonfire – an ancient tradition to part with all bad things of the year will take place at 6 pm at the Maidenhead Great Meadow. 609-895-1728.
  

• Faith - Trinity Church at the Princeton University Chapel will hold a special service at 11 am – Service of Lessons and Carols. 609-924-2277.
  

Many local restaurants are offering special New Year celebrations. This time of the year makes me think of the signs I sometimes see at the train stations or roads – “if you lived here, you would already be home”. If you lived in Princeton NJ you would be only an hour away from the ultimate New Year’s experience, watched by millions around the world –watching the ball drop at the grand celebration in the New York’s Times Square.

Moving to Princeton for the 2008 celebration may be too late, but it is the right time to consider it as the place to live in 2008.
