My top 3 green home picks in and around Seattle

The Greater Seattle area has a plethora of green built and high-performance homes.  This week I’m showcasing 3 homes for my green-picks-of-the-week.

Each one of the homes offers a different approach to sustainability, energy efficiency and design, creative use of re-cycled building materials, and special attention to design and placement of homes on new site.

This week’s picks


City Cabins
 in Seattle’s Queen Anne Hill neighborhood recently featured as the case study of the month by King and Snohomish County’s Built Green program in Washington State.  Built by Martha Rose Construction features, recycled wood plank flooring, re-use of dimensional lumber from demolition of previous onsite structure, LED and CFL lighting, heat-recovery-ventilator are just a few of the elements that went into the design and building of these two hi-performance homes.


Chico Beach Cottages
