I have been seeing a lot of Goal Blogs for 2008 and I commend those that have done them.

First, a Goal not written down is a mere wish.  I had heard or read that sometime ago and it hit home with with me and my wife and ever since then we have been writing them down and putting them someplace that we would see them every day.  I took this one step further and placed them inside my bathroom cabinet.  So, that every morning, when I dug out the hair gel and toothpaste.  I would see them and likewise in the evening before I went to bed.  They would be the last thing I read before I got into bed.

Second, A Goal not shared is a goal you won't keep.  I was listening to Zig a year or so ago as I mowed the lawn.  I had to stop and replay what he said ot make sure that I had it right.  When he was writing his first book.  He wrote in there that he was such and such tall and weighed 170 lbs.  He was that tall, but he was over 200 lbs.  So, he knew that when that book came out he had to weigh a 170lbs or no one would ever buy his book.  He shared his goal with the world.  So, he had to keep it.  HE HAD TO KEEP IT

Over the next 3 or 4 days, I am going to share with you my goals and how I came up with them.  How I was taught by my coach.  I have two acronyms that I follow on how to make sure a goal that you write down is really a goal and the how to implement those goals.

Good luck in '08

Hi Dave,

Nice post.  It will be interesting to see what your goals are for 2008.  I like to say "Good Luck" but it is probably more beneficial to say "Great Perseverance, Great Lofty Goals, and Excellent Job!"

Dave,  We at Buffini Clubnet, also, carry a card with us.  We look at it throughout the day.  It has our goals listed on the back of it, our transactions on the front:)  Give it a try, it will make you focus even more.  Much success to you in 2008!

It's a Good Life!

It seems so much more tangible when goals are written down.  I have also been interested in reading other people's goals for 2008.  We are all indifferent places in our business but there are many commonalities in what we want to achieve.

Even more important than goal setting is "Goal Getting"  Great Post!
