It’s Friday again and time to think about a fun place to eat out this weekend in Austin. Depending on what you are in the mood for there is something for everyone!
I’ve got some good choices this week for some authentic Italian cuisine:
Taverna http://www.tavernabylombardi.com/ Taverna is a warm and inviting neighborhood restaurant that offers a truly Italian experience without having to leave Texas. The Italian chefs strive to create the perfect menu using seasonal ingredients for their surprising entrees; every day they present a variety of Northern Italian delights that range from simple comfort food to delicate pastas and fabulous risotto. A taverna in Italy is a special place where customers become friends and family. Here, the essence of hospitality and farm-to-table cooking reflects that in their rustic and welcoming interior. We also like to eat outside and people watch!
Tree House Italian Grill http://www.treehousegrill.com/ Tree House Italian Grill hosts one of Austin’s oldest and largest live oaks. The live oak is estimated to be over 700 years old! At Tree House you’ll find a beautiful garden complete with shrubs and flowers, brick walkways, trellis and gazebo. Combined with comfortable Italian cuisine, the Tree House Italian Grill is where good memories are made, and excellent food and superb wines are served. When Geno and I were dating this was one of our favorities!
La Traviata http://www.latraviata.net/contact.html La Traviata is a gem of a place on Congress Ave. in downtown Austin. The pasta is always fresh and the meatballs are delicious with a broad selection of wines to choose from. It’s a nice smaller restaurant with great service ~ the perfect spot for a Friday night date or a special occasion.
As always, local events and information are brought to you as a courtesy by your NW Austin, Coldwell Banker United Realtor®, Dorie Dillard. Please watch for future Dorie’s picks for Austin dining experiences!
If you are considering the sale or purchase of a NW Austin home I would love the opportunity to earn your business and exceed your expectations!
A good Foodie Friday morning to you Dorie! It all sounds delicious and tempting but I guess I'll stick to my glass of carrot and berries this morning. You know ... this new healthy eating deal my bride has me on is actually working. I can assure you if we head to Austin Texas we'll be giving your suggestions a try.
Dorie - they all sound great, but I would definitely check out the Tree House Italian Grill with all its history, herb gardens and delicious food! I had no idea oak trees could even live 700 years! Have a great weekend!
Dorie- I love your Foodie Fridays! Your local paper should make this a regular feature in their paper!!! I am so glad I had eaten before I read this or I'd be heading to my kitchen now.
Cute series you got going Dorie. First of all Austin is a great place to visit, shop and of course eat many different varieties of food. Since we moved back to the Hill Country, our family has made more frequent trips to Austin. Seeing your blog, I will have to try a few of your favorite places to eat.
