Come to the Florida Blueberry Festival in Brooksville, Florida - May 4th - 6th, 2012!
Florida is known for oranges but did you know that Blueberries are grown in at least 17 counties in Florida? Right here, many local area farms around Central Florida, including Hernando, Pasco, and Sumter Counties are producing an abundance of blueberries every Spring long before these delicious blue berries are available in other parts of the country!
The first annual Florida Blueberry Festival is taking place this weekend, from May 4th to May 6th, 2012 in the City of Brooksville in Hernando County.

Friday night will kick off with a great parade involving 130 floats, music and dance groups, starting at 6:30 PM in downtown Brooksville.
Saturday and Sunday, there will be over a 100 vendors offering everything from fine arts, crafts, food, and of course, freshly picked blueberries and for those who like to grow their own, blueberry plants.
There will be several stages throughout town for performances and bands. Every night, a different feature band will be playing. Other activities involve a car show, a Blueberry Stomp, Blueberry pie eating contest, Blueberry pancake breakfast, and a Blueberry Pie Bakeoff.
