Hi Silvia, nope, I admit, I would never have guessed it! I love blueberries, especially the pick-ur-own part but our season doesn't kick off until June!

The Florida Blueberry Festival sounds like a lot of fun, I'm sure my girls would just love it!

Kathy, that's just it. We produce so many different fruits and vegetables right here in the State that many people would even think about. Lou, you got that right! Andrea, we have the pick-your-own farms here as well! And our blueberry season is in full swing a couple months ahead of everyone else!

Sivia,

I just bought some blueberries this morning with ambitions to make scones this Sunday...I love blueberries, and I would love to taste a Florida grown batch.  Besides the local ones, we get blueberries from Oregon and they are superb.  Have a great weekend. A

Silvia the last place on earth I would have thought growing Blueberries is Florida, wow that is good information....BTW I remember as a kid picking wild blueberries in Austria on the edge of the forrest a bit tart compared to the farm grown ones:)))

Endure, I did the same thing when living in Germany.. And thinking about it in Austria as well since we spent many family vacations there! We also found wild strawberries in the woods, remember those?

Silvia, I do believe I would have to attend (if I lived closer) just with the title --- BLUEBERRIES!    With all the events that were planned, sure it was a hit!

Steve, sorry I missed your post. The festival was very well attended! Tara, it's a surprise to many people but hopefully, the word will spread. Karen, our winter and spring weather is a good thing not only for our "snow birds" but also for a great variety of produce.

Barbara-Jo, we actually have two bushes as well but they are still in pots... Good thing though because that way we could bring them in to let the berries ripen... The birds were "picking" them as soon as they started turning blue! Joan, it was huge! I think half the county got involved with all the volunteers helping out and community organizations participating!
