The scammers are hard at work again.
As I stopped by 6115 Dunleer Court to hang my sign rider a woman was looking at the sign and writing the telephone number.
After she inquired as to the monthly rent, she informed me that we “need to advertise it better online,” since she saw it listed for $1,400.
I looked up the address and found the scammer’s post. They are advertising a property that they have no right to advertise and listing it for $900.
I do not know if there is anything we can do to catch these crooks, but I know that posting this helps individuals who do not know the area and it might prevent them from getting ripped off.
Please be aware that 6115 Dunleer Court in Bethesda, Maryland is on the market for $2,999. Only Simone Bercu has the control over this property.
Here is the scam post on Craigslist, I inserted the picture:

Thanks Simone it is so frustrating isn't it? If you see a post that is clearly wrong, you can open up the post and to the right you can click on the spam over post button. I believe it will take more than one person clicking this, but you maybe the click that signals to craigslist to delete the post.
You should let the local authorities know and red-flag it on crag's list
Definitely report the scammer to the folks at Craig's List. They'll take of them right away. No way to stop them you just have to catch and report them.
Hi Simone,
This happened to me a couple years ago...one of my commercial listings showed up on craigslist. My pictures and narrative from the MLS listing were used. I immediately called the MLS Director at our Board and reported it to him then I notified craigslist.
I sent them an email that I was the listing agent and explained the above. To their credit, they removed the post immediately. Here's the link.

There's a old well know adage "If it sounds to good to be true, it probable is."
Brandon Jean and Ralph, I agree.
Kathy, you are right. Lots of people need to click on it. I imagine consumer might do that. I should click on the spam button, too.
Hannah. I looked up the process to report online issues and gave up. It seemed too time consuming. I did click on the "prohibited" button.
Alan, that is true, but if you do not know the area, you might not know that it is too good to be true?
Diana, I am going to use your link to report it, too. Thanks.
I had a similar thing happen with one of my properties as well. Definetly red flag it!
Thanks for sharing Joanne. Looks like they have gotten more "creative". They used to just get any properties advertised on Craigs List, but now, they get our MLS listings from the Internet even if we do not advertise on Craigs List.
