Bad Window Installation or Flipper Invention?

Bad window installation… well yes!  But sometime our mistakes can be our greatest discovery.  This is only if you have the vision to understand what you did.

When performing home Inspections sometimes it will take you a second to understand what you see.

Here is a great example. I come into the front room and notice that something just does not look right with the front window. But I was not really focused on the window yet.

                                             Flipped Window

So after my electrical inspection of the room I go to the window and start inspecting it. Then you sometimes have to laugh. This is a single hung window installed sideways (flipped 90 degrees).

So I thought what the heck let’s see if they work. This is when the discovery really happens.

I found that this installation comes with a nice feature… auto open windows.

Check out this video and you will understand the importance of this discovery.

This flipper did not know how brilliant they really were.

Don, I have never seen that before, but I did enjoy that video. Maybe I will try installing those as well, haha.

Maybe they had their reason.  I mean you would really have to do this intentionally I think...I hope, anyway!

Michael,  You just never know what we will find out there. I thought it was sort of funny though.

Charlie, So true don't want that auto open feature to work at the wrong time ; )

Gary, The reason is beyond reason. My best guess is that ordered the window with the wrong orientation and just decided to install it any way and hope no one notices.

In today's modern society, how can you possibly complain about something that is automatic!  Isn't that what the consumer is demanding?

Jay, No complaints, I see the beauty in its design ; ) It just needs some time to catch on.

You have this all wrong, that's a new high tech, multi nut cracker. Is that not a testament to the incompetence of some contractors?
