Even those among us who may choose to pooh pooh the Bible as a stale and outdated book are familiar with that oft quoted passage attributed to JESUS...!!!
For those of us that believe that THE BIBLE is still the Word Of God, that passage has much deeper significance...especially in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA in election year 2012...!!!
I’m not one who likes to ‘pick and choose’ Scripture passages to suit my needs...I choose rather to see THE BIBLE as God’s Love Story to HIS CHILDREN...
In this case, however, we must understand that it was God who said this in the person of JESUS...It was not CAESAR or the government at the time who proposed this scripture passage, which, even in our day, is quoted more often by secularists and socialists to promote their cause(s) than it is by believers in God and His Word...
It is not the BIBLE itself that is important...After all, like most printed material it will eventually decay and rot and return to the earth...BUT GOD’S WORD WILL ENDURE...
For The Trinitarians among us, God’s Word is God Himself...JESUS...AND THAT WORD, by definition, NEVER CHANGES...HE IS ABSOLUTE...
Unlike our modern day society which tends to throw out THE ABSOLUTE in favor of the much in vogue concept of ‘I’M OK, YOU’RE OK’ or better seen as the DAY OF RELATIVISM, where even the gravest sins are swept under the rug and/or accepted as the norm, the TRUTHS enunciated in Scripture ARE ABSOLUTE...
Now, there are some who will read this post thinking that there are portions of THE BIBLE which portray horrible events, and some of those in graphic detail...I’ll wager that those few are of the ilk that would agree with the passage by Congress of a 3,000 page bill without reading it or knowing in context what it was trying to say...
May I suggest to those, that if you’re trying to know CAESAR (OBAMA), read what Caesar has to say, and if you’re trying to know GOD (JESUS), read what He has to say...
PLEASE...BOTH IN CONTEXT...!!!
